Game Thread: Twins vs. Blue Jays 4:40 PM PT (6:40 PM CT) 4/15/2019

Today, I thought I'd check in, and see how the Twins are faring in the standings:

Surprise Surprise, the Twins are in first place in the Central. However, it is March, March 15th to be exact and, the long-time nemesis for the Twins are in town.

Of course, it appears the Jays are trending down right now, though they do play in the AL East.

Having watched the Twins early in the season, I've yet to figure out if the Twins are finding ways to win or if their opponents are finding ways to lose. Maybe a little of A and a little of B?

No matter, the Twins lead the Central and have a respectable record.

Pitching for the Twins:

Martin Perez

Pitching for the Blue Jays:

Matt Shoemaker.

Play ball!

Today is March, March 15, in the year of our March 20March9.

Crud, tried to do a riff on the Ides of March and screwed up.

With any luck, a mod will notice and fix it.

April has ides too...

Not sure if it is the 15th though...

Just no one really cares any more about the ides. I'd care... if i had to.

Anyway, just ate the free food after one Patriot's day parade. Off to another one...

Oh, you meant the first post?

Then, no.

It's a game thread. The typo is too good to clean up. Own it. :)

I already did and now want a refund.

But, I guess "you broke it you bought it" applies.

:)

Sorry... i had to respond just so i could see how one kept

(R) from becoming a copyright symbol. Does it also preserve 2 spaces after a period?

What other miracles might this box perform?
I may never know...

BTW, I believe this is the first time a Twins home game has been scheduled to start at 18:40. This is new this year. It's my understanding that all weekday night games before Memorial Day and after Labor Day are to start at this time. I think it's to make it more conducive for families to attend on school nights.

Need to score early and often today. I’d have to think that Parker and Rogers are “no go” for sure and that may apply to Hildenberger and May as well.

That leaves Mejia, Harper and Vasquez. It may be time to see what these guys are made of.

Weird lineup from the Twins, as everyone seems to have noticed.

Kep needed a day off, he's leading the Twins with 52 AB right now. Cave is last with just 12 AB, he could use some playing time.

I don't mind it. Riverboat Rocco's at it again, folks!

The leadoff hitter would figure to have the most times at bat.
