I disagree.  He was able to pitch around walks and base hits (save the last inning), but he showed good velocity, and the ability to finish off hitters for strikeouts.

It took him 82 pitches to go 3.2 innings.

1) He could have struck out all 11 outs and it still wouldn't be a good outing, unless he was a rookie.

2) His six Ks in 3.2 innings is around three times his normal K rate.

He got lucky. This is a May/Duffey strong start/quick decline scenario unless he gets better.

Maybe the snow will hold off until they get the game in.

I started to get up to go look anxiously out the window, and then I remembered I'm in Los Angeles.

He got lucky.

He gave up one extra base hit (the last a bat).  The luck went against him with the five base hits.  He looked pretty talented out there, even if the results didn't bear it out.

Not to mention the 3 walks.

I was responding to the luck statement, but yeah, the walks are a problem.  The hits, not so much (because they aren't fielding independent), esp. just one was an extra base hit.

I liked what I saw from Perez, even if I didn't like the results.  Just one guys opinion.

I like how Pineda controlled the zone...either just outside or just up and in. He seems to have a good game plan going and I am confident he will be a solid #3.

With Perez, too early to tell. The stuff was there. Maybe trying to be a bit too fine. We'll see if he can get it under control. Can go either way...but definitely worth a shot.

Looks like a fun lineup! I like what we have going on here.

(oh and by the way, Cruz Control hits EVERYTHING hard)

Willians accepting the high-fives in the dugout but looking quite upset with himself after the baserunning gaffe.

I noticed that also. Good for him, knowing he made a mistake.
