Dozier to the Nats

I am glad he found a team that wanted him.  I was surprised he managed that much on a prove it deal but I guess LOMO got something similar last year.  I think he will rebound and have a good year unless he gets injured again.  He was one of my favorite players so am happy for him.

I wonder how long his antics and act will last in DC...

He should thank his agent, surprisingly high contract

I don't agree with any of this. He was a very productive hitter, a good defender, a spokesman, and from all reports, a leader/good teammate. The only issue I had is that he was wildly inconsistent during the course of a season. Still, it's very hard to argue with the total production. It's too bad he didn't get to play with better teams.

I am not saying the Twins should of extended him or tried to resign him. With the near ready middle infield talent in the system, a one year deal to Schoop makes sense.

I will be the 1st to admit I was wrong when I predicted he would not make over like $5M.

His agent got him a great deal. Hate to be lazy but not sure who his agent is, maybe this is one of those deals you do with an agent because you are trying to land a better client the agent represents.

Did we get a better value in Schoop? I think so.

We'll see. They're pretty similar cases as former All-stars coming off of terrible seasons. Schoop has youth being 2 years younger and what, $2 million cheaper?

I hope we get more Twins with the "antics and act" of Dozier.

Two questions:

1. Will Schoop insist on batting lead-off?

2. Which player will hit more solo homers this year?

That said, I hope both players have nice bounce back seasons, with Schoop bouncing back further than Dozier. I’ll be more than happy to watch Dozier here in DC for the Nats. (It will also make for a nice storyline when he makes the Series for the second year in a row and faces his old team.)

The Dodgers and Nats are both in the NL, they can't meet in the WS.
