Could be worse. We could have lost our old QB to season ending surgery, and then traded our first for a safety, slot corner....I like the player Pittsburgh got, but you cannot do that with an injured, old, QB.

Maybe they want to trade for Kirk?

Then the Vikes can fall back on one of the overlooked QBs they've drafted in the last few years... ahhh I mean picked up as an undrafted FA from Augsburg. It worked with Thielen!

The Jets also lost 2 QBs in the first 2 weeks... They wanted Kirk badly in FA. There's a couple of scenarios that could work to trade Kirk, and I would listen to offers. Then again, my job security isn't tied to this signing working out like Spielman.

I see no way he's traded.....that was more of a joke.

Would you accept a first round pick + more for him? I know I would. And I'd wash it down with an ice cold Budweiser!

Probably not, unless the and more was a guy under control at a key position for at least three years. A great Ol or DL? Possibly....

Kirk is frustrating, but I'm not ready to give up. Close, admittedly, close.

It isn't going to happen, but it should. A cold blooded GM would take advantage of the big Ben injury and fleece the Steelers. They are 0-2, and the addition of Cousins might provide job security. If the Vikes get in the top 10 of the draft while having an extra 1st round pick, they'll have a shot at one of the top QBs. Tua, Herbert and Fromm all look solid.

Point is moot if they win the super bowl...

Confirmed. Big Ben out for the season with elbow surgery. Wonder if it is the UCL... I doubt he'll play again, 38 is really old to come back from that type of injury.

It was only a matter of time before the torch gets passed to the young QBs. Big Ben may not make it back... Eli is a shell of his former self... Rivers is still doing well! The 2004 Draft is a historic QB draft class. Potentially 3 hall of famers when it's all said and done.

I saw that the Vikings have been linked to trade talks for Jalen Ramsey who wants an extension. With their cap situation I don't know how that's possible unless Rhodes or another of the expensive vets was going back to the Jags in return.

I'd deal Rhodes and a first and some random player, if he'll sign an extension. Rhodes is not playing well

Same. If they don't like Rhodes I would trade Waynes too. Ramsey is the best man to man corner in the NFL who's turning 25 next month. He'd be a huge upgrade for any team's secondary.

I'd do that too, but if getting rid of Rhodes' contract is the biggest encumbrance, then it might indicate he may have a negative value, in which case the Vikings would likely have to give up quite a bit more than just one 1st round pick.

Possibly. I think a three team trade makes the most sense. Get a mid round pick from some contender for Rhodes.

And, Antonio Brown? Wow.

Since the NFL stole a game from the Lions last night, expect to see plenty of makeup calls in Detroit's favor this weekend against the Vikings.

And the Packers get the benefit of both games.

The NFL is approaching professional wrestling status.

It could be worse, we could have Flacco.. ..

I think Elway is an idiot. Broncos are going nowhere. At least Flacco will lose them enough games to get a high draft pick. I do think Keenum is/would have been better in Denver. Maybe that was the angle?

Nah, he's an idiot. Thought Flacco was an upgrade and traded a 4th to get him while only taking a 7th to get rid of Keenum.

The dude can't identify or develop QBs to save his life. He's lucked out one time when Peyton Manning decided to play for the Broncos.

As not a Vikings fan, I shy away from the football forums. I’m sure one could guess my football allegiance....

But we all can agree, there’s a special kind of joy that comes with watching Da Bares snatch defeat from jaws of victory.

We agree, although realizing Packer fans like it too takes away a little of the joy.  :P

Kap is getting a try out. There are a handful of teams it would make sense to sign him. Odds are low that anyone will sign him, but it would be extremely interesting. Why wouldn't a bottom tier team sign him just for the attendance bump? Also, he's still likely better than at least 10 current NFL qb's.

It's nothing more than a dog and pony show put on by the NFL.

Yeah, several NFL executives have young stud QB's that wouldn't think of buying a 32 year old that hasn't played in 3 years. However, plenty of teams aren't in that situation.

What teams should be interested:

Miami

Cincinnati

Pittsburg

Tennessee

Denver

Washington

Chicago

Detroit

Atlanta

He and his team were notified of the workout one day before it was to happen. Most workouts happen on a Tuesday, for obvious reasons. His team asked for a Tuesday. The NFL said no. He asked for a delay, so he had more than a couple days to prepare. The NFL said no.

This is BS.

I wouldn't expect anything less from this league. It's a forced dog and pony show so then in the future they can say he was denied playing for football reasons instead of political reasons.
