Week 9: Vikings vs. Kitties

I don't understand why Alexander is on the field over Holton Hill.

That's a head scratcher to me as well. I really like what I see from Hill. I've never been impressed with Alexander at any point over the last 3 years.

$7.6 million unguaranteed. He's restructuring or released next year. Same with Remmers and Reiff. There are outs for both players that make sense to do so.

I'd be shocked if we let Reiff go, I think he's been a really solid signing.  But Remmers and Rudolph are gone.

Rudolph adds nothing to this team.  I'll be happy never to watch him catch a ball and fall down 2 yards short of a first ever again.  One of the softest NFL players I've ever watched play.

I'm more worried about Reiff's health than his ability. OL with foot injuries isn't a good sign. If he proves to be healthy I agree he stays. The dead cap hit is far greater than Rudolph and Remmers. Both of them are no brainer cuts.

I never understood why they decided to move Remmers to guard full time. He was an average tackle which is actually a compliment compared to the talent in the league. I think he's awful at guard.

I disagree on the first part of that. It was a couple of years ago, so my memory is a little hazy, but I believe PFF had Remmers as either the worst or 2nd worst RT in football. The Vikings internal evaluation must have been similar as well. I think they moved him inside hoping they could salvage something out of him there. Clearly he can't play there either, though. I'd imagine he's out of football after this year.

The offense didn't have to do much. Lions took away Thielen, and no Diggs meant most the offense was taken away. Treadwell has become a good third option, but more of a possession receiver. Rudolph was more disappointing to me. Thielen had double coverage every single play, and he couldn't find any open space. Maybe it is the scheme, but he has been an absolute non factor in this offense.

So do the Lions..... The rams are sixth in points allowed... Give or take, before today

So do the Lions?  Huh?

I really don't care what it says about their points allowed, they aren't a good defense.  They can be shredded by a good offense, they've just played a lot of bad ones so far.

I don't know what to make of the Vike's performance against the Saints.  I am hesitant to give them credit because I think the Saints played without their foot on the gas because our turnovers handed them what they needed to win.  So while I see them look unstoppable today and we largely held them in check....I'm not sure I can conclude our defense is the reason.  I'd like to be be able to conclude that, but I think that game was too weird to do that.

I don't mind the Vikings being under the radar. The 2 turnovers cost them the game against NO, and they had the Rams on the ropes. The bills game is still a bad one.

Now they have a week off to get healthy and prepare for the bears. I don't think the bears are that good, and hopefully Vikings will keep the throttle down and crush them.
