IMPORTANT Dick N Bert Update

Provus is really good though.  I'd like to see him move to TV if that's an option.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

I need Provus on the radio side.  He paints the picture so well.  I don't need anyone describing to me that which I can see for myself.

Morneau is at the head of the class among the people parading at the analyst spot last season.

Just wish that there was an audition for play by play and easing Dick out as well.  Just tired of the same and same trite and nothing to do with the game remarks, esp. when the game is not close....

You must not have liked Vin Scully.

The MLB streaming broadcasts are so much better. Choose the ambient ballpark audio feed during the game. Just crowd noise, ballpark organ, PA announcer, vendors...  You get to analyze your own plays! Come to your own conclusions!. Carry on a conversation about the game with a buddy! Brilliant!

The only problem is you have to wait 24 hours to watch your home team this way because of the in-market blackout rules. In my case, totally self-defeating because blacking out the Twins feed doesn't make me want to to watch Dick & Bert on FSN but stream the Astros or Red Sox or Brewers game real-time, instead. Given that MLB still posts every Twins game highlight within 30 seconds of it occurring, I'm not seeing this as an effective strategy. They should just add a surcharge on the subscription to help subsidize the local broadcast and stop all the blackout nonsense.

Over the course of 162 games and decades worth of seasons, I like analysts that can teach me something. I've found myself saying, "huh, that was interesting," most often with TK and Torii.

But both are on the dry side to listen to. Bremer gets into it. He's using more metrics, but still adds that nostalgia feeling from '91. Baseball has changed the least of all the major sports over time. Listen to James Earl Jones' speech in field of dreams. I defy anyone who grew up in the 80s and 90s to bring up some old Herb Carnile and John Gordon calls (or halsey if you're older) and not feel transported to your youth. That's when I fell in love with the sport. Something will be lost for me, when Bremer retires. So many of my best Twins memories are set to his calls. "Up... back... GONE!! and the cycle is complete." inevitable I guess.

When do we start phasing out Bremer?  I kinda care more about that than Blyleven.

I just prefer to listen to Corey.

Of course, I have to listen to Dan as part of the package, but his anecdotes and general smart-aleck attitude out weighs the "and we go to the ninth with the score the Twins 4 and the Indians 7" roughness.

If you watch or listen to some other feeds ... The Rangers, the White Sox, etc. etc., I think many of you would realize how you have some of the best broadcasters in the game. Twins fans are blessed.

To be honest, I pay very little attention to what broadcasters say anyway. I put very little of my attention into the jibber jabber, just enough to start listening if I hear something interesting. But I will say I notice a huge drop off when listening to nearly any other team's broadcasters.
