Well, for me at least, that was the most exciting Twins game in quite a while, which means that they've basically been reduced to the sports equivalent of a nature show dung beetle trying to avoid being eaten by a praying mantis.

Dick was calling the David Wells perfect game and stopped just short of claiming it should be invalidated by MLB due to the abysmally low level of talent in the Twins' lineup.

 

It wouldn't surprise me if Pohlad personally threatened to "release the hounds" on him if he ever disparaged the product on the field that strongly on the air again.

 

So maybe playing up Lopez' ability is just Dick protecting his own professional fanny. Or maybe it's just Bremer being Bremer.

They would have to invalidate Eric Milton’s 11 am start time against September call ups no hitter too.
