Burdi is on a rehab assignment with Pittsburgh. 

 

But he's been pitching since July 16th, and I believe pitchers get 30 days on assignment, meaning the Pirates are going to have to call him up by the end of the week. 

 

Here's to a continued push for a WC spot for the Pirates so as to make keeping a freshly TJ'd pitching with a history of control issues a tough ask of the team!

Hmmmm, so only four days of a shortened pen you're saying? Seems like there may have been a missing component to my machinations. 

 

Well there's always 2019 I guess.

Meh, he's almost 26 and has pitched a grand total of one inning above AA, 27 total innings pitched over the past three seasons combined. He's spent parts of four seasons in AA and put up a WHIP of 1.46 at that level.

 

Hitting triple digits is great, and I love a good comeback story, but I don't think he'd help the Twins pen any more in 2019 (or 2020 or 2021) than he did as a supposedly fast-rising sure thing in 2014. Hope I'm wrong.
