Thanks for the Memories Recently Departed Twins Players.

Welcome to your safe space to talk about recently departed Twins players. This is a room to reminisce and remember the good times.

This is NOT a place to reply to someone else saying 'he's a rental player' 'he's a utility player' 'he's not good anymore'

To start, thank you for the memories Brian Dozier. You had a hell of a run with the Twins when there was very little to get excited about.

I hope you continue to mash chest high fastballs into the 3rd deck.

I'll always love Dozier's goosebump inducing walk-off against the Tigers to seal the comeback right before the all-star break... one of my greatest moments as a fan

His beautiful hair and beautiful/unorthodox dinger swing will always be fondly remembered

Doze brought the clubhouse together. 2017 doesn't happen without him. In that sense he is irreplaceable.

Agreed. Escobar tried rallying the team in 2018 with his play and charisma on the field. Two fun personalities no longer on the team...

I’ll miss his shin guard unbuckling while being rung up on a strike.

Lol jk I’ll miss these guys. I’ll never forget last years lead off home run against the Yankees and how fired up he was.

I had hoped somehow that either Dozier or Escobar or both could get extended so now I will hope at least one is signed back as a free agent. I guess I loved Escobar’s smile and Charisma more than I loved Dozier hair but, like Joe Mauer, I’d hoped that the career Twin would eventually get rewarded with a World Series or at least a decent playoff run in our uniform.

Good luck and may God Bless both of you in the future!

Pressly, Duke, and Lynn, thank you for your efforts and professionalism while here. Also, thank you for the prospects you brought back in the these trades. I have nothing but well wishes for your futures and hope you do well except when you play the Twins.

I thought Lynn was a good signing, and I still think it was. I believe he's still got a lot of good bullets left in the arm.

I think it was going to be very tough to put together a good year when you get the late start that he did. When you don't have spring training, you don't get to work out the bugs on the sideline in the same way. Switching leagues. Dealing with the dejection of getting paid a TON less than you (and most everybody else) were expecting.

We can say that it should have made him ready to go out and prove himself, but I doubt any of us have had to deal with any of that kind of rejection. We forget that players are human too. Professional sports require an extreme amount of self-confidence, and he had virtually all of it blasted by those "in the know."

And to those on this board who thought he was worthless, I'll ask this:

  • Who is the only Twin to have thrown five straight quality starts this year? Hint: He's a Yankee now.

My son and I were watching baseball last night, out here on the West coast.  We were tuning in to the AZ Diamondbacks to watch Escobar and then we switched over to Houston's game to watch Pressly.  It was kinda funny watching those guys on other teams and we were switching away from the normal program to watch them.

I'll miss Dozier but I had more affection for Escobar. He was so easy to root for, nobody expected anything from him and despite outplaying pretty much everyone they put in front of him, he still couldn't overcome the doubters.

The guy just seems to be a genuinely good person who seemed to sincerely enjoy each day. I wish him well.

Dozier is one of my favorite players in recent memory.  The intensity and always seem to play with a chip on shoulder.  BD and his glorious hair will be missed.

I am really hoping the FO makes a move on EE if the sneks allow him to hit free agency, he was quickly becoming one of my favorites.

My gut feeling is Escobar signs as a free agent with us.  Not so much with Dozier.  He is gone!  The Astros added a huge piece in Press.
