We have to keep Gibson. He's the guy that can go into New York or Boston and not get rattled.

That's maybe the most remarkable thing about Gibson's transformation, because I used to think that his biggest weakness was that he didn't have the kind of stuff to be effective against lineups like the Yankees and BoSox, with disciplined hitters that don't get themselves out on bad pitches.

Gotta say though, it’s been kind of a subdued atmosphere at Fenway tonight. At least watching on tv

Love seeing the hit and run executed

It's not as much of a novelty as the drop kick in the NFL, but sometimes it feels like it might be someday.

Yeah, it seems quiet even for a regular season game, let alone a playoff game. I'm thinking more about how he used to struggle against teams that forced him to throw strikes.

He was great, no doubt

Torii: "It's pretty tough to win a Gold Glove playing outfield at Fenway. When's the last time a Red Sox outfielder won a Gold Glove?"

Dick: "Betts"

Torii's not gonna let a stray fact here or there get in the way of a perfectly good opinion.

Finally in front of a telly...

1-1 i see. What i miss?

Gibson was excellent, but there seemed to be a collective failure on the part of baserunners and middle management to grasp the time-space continuum as it relates to advancing from third to home.
