Game Thread: Twins vs Kansas City, 7/10/18 @ 5:10 PM PT (7:10 PM CT)

Just a few short games ago, I was one of those who thought the Twins were pretty much dead, desperately clinging to life. I thought the Twins were done to the point I expected the FO to do the following:

*Why is it that a comedy has a better representation of life in the Middle Ages than big budget Hollywood movies?

But, it shows you what I know, because lately, the Twins have decided to have the last laugh and show us they're not quite done yet:

*Trust me on this, the movie is far better than the book.

And, here we are, heading into All Star break and the Twins FO is probably wondering if anything they have to trade has value and if what they have that has value is should be traded. Never fear, though, I expect the FO will make smart decisions based on solid logic and reasoning:

*Opening scene sort reminds me of being a Twins fan this year.

And now, for a musical interlude:

*Love the sparse arrangement of this song. And blame this on Vanimal. He introduced me to Ms. James.

Wrapping up the content, I leave you with the following:

spaceforrentdoggiekittie

*What's the matter with cute?

Some random observations from last night:

1. Salvador Perez: It's astonishing to watch a guy snatch a somewhat errant 97mph fastball out of the air.
2. Baseball is cruel: Grossman hit a ball on the button for an out, Cave defends the plate and dumps one into left for a hit.
3. Berrios: All Star!
4. Molitor: Gave up the DH late in the game, which showed a bit of innovation.
5. Wilson: Key hits in key spots? What in the world is going on?

Play ball!

Pitching for the Twins:

Right hander Aaron Slegers

Pitching for the Royals;

Right hander Ian Kennedy

Still striking out over 30% of the time with 1 HR, but also hitting .315.

I'll take baby steps at this point. I don't want to see him up here again until the minor league season is done, if even then.

And many just want to take whatever offer they can get just to get Gordon reps

Not everyone that wants him traded because of Gordon. Some want him dealt because they won't re-sign him and they may as well get something for him.

I'd rather watch Dozier than read about some long shot org filler.  If they deal him, it better be for something that will help the big club within a year.

Fs1.

Sleger's really throwing some frisbees out there. I don't know that he'll ever be able to get out MLB batters.

Maybe now's a good time to mention that I've insisted that Slegers profiles as a long reliever and not even as a 5th starter?

Oof, another XBH. We're gonna be seeing Magill pretty soon.

Which is reasonable. I couldn't care less about watching him either catch fire finally in a lost season or continue to struggle in a lost season. If they get someone that can help next season, great! If not, it's better than nothing.

This is a prime example of what happens when you just throw FB-FB-FB-FB-FB-FB-FB-FB-FB

89-89-89-89-89-89-89-89-89-89

Nervous or not you have to mix things up either pitch wise or velocity

As I type this 89-89-89-89-89
