At this point the Twins should do anything possible to improve its offense without adding too much financial burden. Morrison, Wilson and Motter have been struggling all season. They should be let go.

There have been a few cold weather postponements in MLB. And certainly because of rain or snow. I don’t think those conditions are any less dangerous than what the players faced yesterday. And you don’t always feel it right away. Indeed, here in Minnesota it’s much cooler and less humid than Friday or Saturday. Yet, I more or less fainted at work today. I think (and doctor agrees) that it was because of working the last two (I am kitchen manager at a Perkins) in the heat and going from hot kitchen to cooler/freezer and back again.

Kepler also left early because of heat illness on an afternoon Cubs manager Joe Maddon described as the worst he has experienced during a major league game.

"That was a pretty brutal day,'' Maddon said. "If you put that on AstroTurf, that would have been like the worst ever.''

I played golf for 4.5 hours in 101 temps yesterday. Real feel of 109. It didn't take a gutsy performance to finish the round. I drank plenty of water, wet my hat and towel, no heat related issues.

You are one of my 5 favorite posters here, but cmon.  You don't think Max Kepler could have been golfing in Austin Texas yesterday?
