Game Thread: Twins vs. Texas 1:10 PM CT 6-24

ANNND Welcome back! To Minnesota Twins Whine Line: Breakup Edition! I am your host, and disappointed boyfriend, Vanimal. The Twins are doing their best to make us not care about their performance the rest of the year. Especially after optioning Romero to AAA, leaving the rotting corpse of Belisle on roster. Maybe it's them, not US! Before we dive into our feelings, let's talk about a game that will happen. It will still happen whether you watch them or not!

Intermittent cloud cover in Minneapolis today! 77 degrees at first pitch and warming up during the day. REAL FEEL of 81 degrees. Blustery winds from the ESE at 10 MPH.

Minnesota Twins (33-40):

P - Jose Berrios ( R) - one of the few reasons to keep watching this team!

Texas Rangers (34-44):

P - Bartolo Colon ( R) - He's a national treasure

Let's get our feelings out today... I thought we had something together, Falvine. You spent money fixing the rotation! The rotation isn't that bad! But everything except the Ed's has gone to hell in a hand basket.

The Twins are like Jack at the end in Titanic... There's room for you on that board in the ocean, but I'm not going to save you... Maybe this is just a summer fling. And I've got a life in England you don't know about.

When going through a breakup, the best things to do is find a new hobby. Today I'm taking my dog to a training session instead of watching the game. Funny how my dog's hearing has become selective after giving him some independence...

I don't recommend this approach, but some eat their feelings through a breakup. Which reminds me that the State Fair is coming up! With NEW FOOD for you to try.

Don't worry, even though the Twins let you down, know that Minnesota Twins Whine Line will keep chugging along. We will never let you down!

Trying to find the silver dollar the horse swallowed in the road biscuit he deposited on this road of the 2018  season:

Berrios. (I just jinxed it, didn't I?)

I've seen it written a hundred times, but I think I am just now coming to grips with how debilitating the loss of Santana, Polanco, and essentially Sano, Buxton, and Dozier has been.  This team does have some character if they were able to rise up and take 4 of 6 from CLE/BOS last week.  There is something there to work with, in the hands of the right master.  Its kind of a miracle really that they are even remotely "in it," I guess due to some great pitching, and Ed I and Ed II.

And finally, saw an article about how Torii Hunter used to go to the restaurant in LA where Royce Lewis' dad was the sommelier.  They knew each other, Hunter had his phone number even, and a couple of other Angels eventually helped finance him (Lewis' dad) when he went to start his own restaurant--but Lewis' pop never told Hunter his son was a top baseballer.  I like that style.  Kind of the anti-Ball strategy.

Sorry, not very whiny--I think I accidentally called the "Fresh Air" program instead of the Whine Line.  Thanks for the GTO Vanimal!

Going to the in-laws for lunch instead of watching the game. Never thought a visit to the in-laws would be more enjoyable than watching a Twins game, but here we are!

Hoping Berrios can shut TX down and the Twins can take care of Bartolo. He's not a soft-throwing journeyman lefty, meaning the Twins have a chance!

A sweep would be devastating.

If you haven't clicked on the New foods link for the State Fair it's highly recommended.

I would eat the hell out of Irish Tater Kegs, Firecracker shrimp stuffed avacado, sweedish meatball smorgas, and triple chocolate strawberry shortcake!!

If you run out of things to talk about, you can always turn on the game to break the silence!

Or, if you and the father in law need common ground, you can rip on Taylor Motter together!

Great analogy, you should coach Gleeman

A better visual, which requires someone like Bark's Lounge, is photshopping Falvine on the board. With Molly as Jack, sinking toward the bottom of the ocean.

I’m seeing it’s supposed to rain until 6/7... we going to see a game today? On one hand I want to see Colon today but I would also like to avoid facing this Texas team on a 7 game winning streak.

Okay, folks ... step up, one and all ...

June is off the books, in terms of game thread starter volunteers. Plenty of open dates left for July ... and some series openers among them. So ... step up to plate and give it a go ... swing and a miss or grand slam, you won't be sorry you you gave it a go!

Check here for availabe dates in July. Plenty to be had ... and it's okay to sign up for more than one! Just send a joint PM to BOTH me and Chief and we'll put you down ... in pen! :)
