Johnson: Lewis Playing Through Patellar Tendinitis,

Recommended Posts

Jeff Johnson talked to Royce Lewis this morning about his knee issue. Lewis noted that he was diagnosed with patellar tendinitis awhile ago, but it's something that he can play through. There will be days when it flares up as it has this week. Twice this week he has left a game.

Rest is what is needed. He didn't play today (Sunday). Monday is an off day. Tuesday is the All Star game, and he may play a couple of innings. He's got Wednesday off. Thursday the second half starts.

That's my thought too... He's probably moving up to Ft. Myers. So, they could promote him, and then put him on the Miracle DL and have him at their main facilities working on his knee... and don't activate him for the week or even two. Then he can come back strong  when he begins with the Miracle.

Oh stop it ... and read heezy’s article on it.

I was disappointed that Heezy's article failed to discuss the pros and cons of amputation. It's not as simple a decision as posters here are making it out to be, particularly when the long-term effects on the player's career are considered.
