Reaffirmation that teaching class was a better idea than watching the Twins?

Heh.... I had to go molitor another exam.

I snorted audibly peeking at the gameday, and had to pretend it was a sneeze.

Honest question: was Garver this awful on defense in the minors? I mean, I wasn't expecting him to be spectacular, but good lord, he is terrible.

The general consensus was Garver was a hitter who couldn't catch and Turner was a catcher who couldn't hit. They went with the hitter, like they always do.

Twins back to counting on their 7-8-9 guys to deliver all the hits and RBI...not gonna win many games that way.

When did Kepler's bat disappear? Seems like we haven't seen a big hit from him in a while.

Since he got moved to the 3-4 spot.

3 called strike! Sano is really the king of strikeout! He didn't even bother to swing at any pitches. I don't care how much talent this guy has. If he does not care to do his work, trade him for good prospects.

I think this kid just needs some good coaching.

I wasn't listening to the broadcast but saw the play live (without volume). I know it was a fly ball to center, and Garver must have held back thinking "tag" - but how did he not score after the ball was clearly over the center fielder's head and died at the base of the wall? Did the announcers give any reason besides just "terrible baserunning"?

They didn't say anything but when the ball hit the wall, Garver was about 5 feet from 2nd base and his momentum was going towards 2nd.  Horrible misjudgement on his part and he really shouldn't have been even thinking of tagging in that situation.

Garver made up for it by being caught off third when Dozier hit the ball back to the pitcher.

I'm not really even upset that Pressly gave up the lead. I knew exactly what was going to happen as soon as runners were on and Molitor brought in Pressly.

However, I want to know when Levine or Falvey are going to ask Molitor why he keeps using Pressly with runners on?

The numbers are readily available so it's not just an impression. The numbers say Pressly is awful with runners on.

Hard to believe total offensive incompetence would come back and bite us

The White Sox made the most of their opportunities and the Twins made the very least of their opportunities.

He wasn't even a full time catcher in the minors. He had only 210 games started at catcher, and 2500 innings, in five seasons.

I guess that would explain why it looks like he's never been back there.

The 'hitter' hasn't been hitting much though. Catching is something hard to be taught. Butera is still in the league. I am not sure about Garver's future. I think Garver does not belong in the big league right now.

I forgot to say, as Mrs Chief and I were getting ready to go out to dinner tonight, she kind of caught me by surprise. She was standing in front of the mirror, looking at herself, and she turned to me and said, "Honey, I look fat, and old. I need you to say something nice about me."

Well, like I said, I was kind of caught off guard. At a loss for words. "Well, your eyesight is as good as ever, honey!" was the best I could come up with.

How many silent treatments do you get in a week on average?

The Cleveland series is looking more and more like an anomaly with each passing day.

The Indians have swept the Brewers in a 2-game set.

The Twins are lucky to have even beat the White Sox once the last three games.

The Indians were heating up before, while the Twins were cold.

That series looks like nothing more than a blip in what has otherwise been an unfavorable trend for the Twins.
