Game Thread: White Sox @ Twins Doubleheader 6/5, 1st game @ 3:10pm CT-2nd game to follow

Recommended Posts

Well, this year is my fourth year of doing game threads. It's been fun and I've truly enjoyed the amount of freedom allowed when writing intros. Admittedly, when it comes to game threads and the Twins, there have been some highs and lows:*

*When in doubt, post video.

Today, though, is a special day, because today is a double header Tuesday. Which means:*

*Not that there's really any such thing as too much baseball. Especially when the Twins win.

In watching the White Sox, it's obvious there's some talent and it will be interesting to see the talent develop over the next few years. Meanwhile, though, the Twins need to show this young Sox team who's the boss:*

*Ouch.

Some random thoughts:

tombstone

Wow, according to Baseball Press, I'm very late getting this thread up and in place:

Some observations from last night:

1. I think I went through baseball withdrawal.

2. The baseball draft took place. Yay!

3. The Twins didn't play last night.

4. Woot! The Yankees split with the Tigers yesterday.

5. :)

Some observations from the night before last:

1. Nice to see Dozier Encarnacion the Indians.

2. Yay Walk-offs!

3. Rosario is entertaining to watch, mistakes and all.

4. FRE: The man just goes about his business and gets the job done.

5. Kepler: I really like this kid. Good steady player who looks to be getting better and better.

Play ball!

Pitching the first game of this double header;

Twins: TBD

White Sox: Lopez

Pitching the second game of the double header:

Twins: TBD (this TBD guy must have quite the arm!)

White Sox: Giolito

Mods: Please note, I may not be able to post the lineups. Also, Baseball Press and mlb.com do not agree as to which Sox pitcher is starting the first game. Of course, since I'm really late with this thread according to Baseball Press, I'm thinking mlb.com is probably correct. We shall see.

Nice job Blake!

Note to game threaders:  This will serve as the game thread for both games today. I'll be posting the same lame jokes great material to both games.

Someone feel free to post game two lineups when available.

When and where did you get some great material? In other words, what changed? :)

Ah, the great material is finally getting a cup of coffee in the majors, eh?

Chief, you know you're now allowed to tell a 26th joke during the second game of a double header.

Can't we just call him up, let him tell a joke only on double-header days, then send him right back down to the Rochester site?

(Just kidding Chief. I like your jokes, but I like taking cheap shots more.)

Since it's a double header, instead of laughing during both games can we just laugh twice as hard during the first game?

(Waiting for it)

I might skip out on work this afternoon and go watch game 1 live.  Will post reports from seats if I make it. I might try to buy Audra Martin a beer.

What if she takes you up on your offer?

As a West Coaster, I'm highly offended you removed PT from the title.....

Eh, had to be adjusted to reflect it's a double header and there's only so much space.

However, the next couple of days should be good.

Using terminology applied to the Twins second draft choice, I think there in "non zero" chance of that happening. :)

But what if? Strangers things have happened. Wear the shades though, just in case. :)

really hard to argue with that.....

But don't blame Blake, I was the one who removed the PT time from the title because it got so long when I clarified the double header part ... but if Blake is true to form, it will be there tomorrow and Thursday! :)

That's going to depend on the scores
