Reed has given up a HR in consecutive outings and an earned run in 3 consecutive.

Also, 3 HR since May 19. Concerning, to say the least.

Cmon, yarni. I get the concern for Reed and this team is no where near expectations, but we just WON here and took 3 of 4 from Cleveland. No need to throw ice water on the fun in this thread. Wait for the game recap thread to come out.

OK, so I was out teaching my daughter how to drive this afternoon, so I haven't had a chance to watch the game,  but I just watched a clip of Rosario's first HR.  That was insane, he barely followed through at all on the swing and it still got out.  The ball just jumps off his bat.

Just watched back all three of Rosario's HRs. First one, the pitch was a foot outside and at his knees and went to left. Second one was well inside around his knees and went to right. Third was up and away, probably a ball, and went to center.

Amazing. There may not be another human on earth that could do that (including Judge and Stanton in that tiny ballpark in NY).

I just thought I would chime in quick. Rosario is the best hitter on this team - bar none. He is a star in the making and I don't give 2 bleeps about the unorthodoxy in his game.

couldn't love this post more!

I too am concerned about a few in the pen. Gibby can't buy a win.  But it's so nice to see one go the other way for a change. And Roserio say of course he was trying to hit a homer.  LOL.

Back when I was a kid I wore jelly sandals that I bought for a few dollars. I’m not gonna pay $30-50 for something that is basically the same.

At first I thought you said they were not sandals, and I thought yes they are. :)

well, Gibby got the most run support of any pitcher in the majors last year. Kind of opposite this year. I didn't understand taking him out with one out to go and having allowed only two hits. Should have let him finish the inning

It all worked out though ! My friend who I went to the game with actually called the Rosario walk off HR before the bottom of the 8th even started.

Glad you finally got over here for a game, Jimmer.

The dude swings at everything.  Reminds me of Vlad Guerrero in that Rosario is a very free swinger and is a really good bad ball hitter.

One could hope Rosario has the same career trajectory.

And a book on Minnesota right there on top! Looks like the view of the shore up here on the cover.

Actually, the book on top is a photo book on Winona, so that top photo is of Lake Winona looking up to the bluffs. The book under it is a photo book on Minnesota called ‘Minnesota: State of Wonders.’ :)

You can take the girl out of Minnesota, and she’ll take Minnesota with her wherever she goes.

time to start my GoFundMe so I can go to the rest of the games!

If you send me a solicitation with a stamped self addressed letter I'll throw in $.50. I can give more later once the money that the Nigerian Prince said he would send gets here. It shouldn't be more than a few days, my check to him cleared yesterday. They must not work in Nigeria on Sat. no one answers the phone in the palace today.

An absolute must stop on the way to Winona is Dels Cafe in St. Charles for breakfast!

St. Charles isn’t on the way to Winona for me, but maybe next time I’m there for the Winona Country Fair. :)

Why is it you seem to specialize in finding the rain cloud inside of every silver lining?

This will go down as one of the most memorable games of the season, and this is the best you can come up with?

If Reed falters, and Pressly for that matter, there are plenty of guys pitching well and who appear ready to challenge for spots in Rochester and Chattanooga. For example, I think May can take one of those high leverage spots very soon, if necessary.

A fantasy baseball factoid:

A points system isn't perfect, but it does a pretty good job of reflecting offensive value. For those who don't play, it's a point for every base (1 for single, 2 for double, and so on), a point for a walk, RBI, and run, and minus a point for a K. Again, not perfect, but pretty accurate. For example Mike Trout is the #1 OF in terms of points scored, Betts is #2, and so on.

After tonight, Rosario is about to take over Judge for the 7th highest scoring outfielder in the entire MLB. 5 points shy of Bryce Harper.

He's all of the sudden one of the best offensive outfielders in the game. Keep in mind that this doesn't reflect defense in any way, but pretty darn impressive to be in that company at the plate.
