I have no problem with him swinging. He got a pitch to hit. 

 

What worries me about Buxton, though, is he was sitting fastball, got it, with pretty much nothing on it, and couldn't hit it hard.

The exact reason why he shouldn’t have been swinging.

This is troubling. I can't tell if the problem is mechanics or in his head.

Sorry to say but does Buxton really recognize a pitch to hit?

The bullpen is doing everything they can to let the Twins win, unfortunately the offense is dead set on not scoring. Seems like we've had more overtime games than usual due to offensive ineptitude.

Man, do I feel sorry for any fans who are actually at this snooze-fest.

Chief Jr and family are here visiting en route to Yokota Air Base, Japan. We were just commenting that "you know the crowd has thinned when the mic pics up individual people whistling."

I literally went to put clothes in the dryer and came back to find the top of the 12th had ended. Brutal.

So...recently I was sitting on an airplane next to a guy who turned out to be a lawyer. I just wanted to sleep, but this guy wanted to prove how smart he was. He wouldn't leave me alone. Finally he offered me a challange: "We'll ask each other questions. For every question I ask you and you can't answer, you'll give me $5. And for every question you ask me that I can't answer, I'll give you $500."

 

Well, I said "Sure."

 

"I'll start," he said. "What is the distance between the earth and moon."  

 

"Dunno," I said. "I owe you five bucks. My turn...what goes up a hill with three legs, and comes down with four?"

 

"I'll have to think about that," he said. In the meantime, I got in an hour and half of sleep while he pondered it.

 

Finally, I heard the pilot announce we were about to land, and it woke me. "OK, I give," said the lawyer. "Here's your five hundred dollars. What's the answer to your question?"

 

"Dunno," I said, "Here's another five. Been nice talking with ya."
