Buxton with another K. Not being critical, because lots of them tonight for the whole team. What impressed me was when I replayed his at bat, his eyes were open every time he swung the bat. He is actually trying to see the ball.

Just for clarity. It's OK to be critical. Buxton is leaving us plenty to be critical about. It wouldn't be honest discussion to not be critical.

Just don't take a hammer to him and smash him to bits like he isn't human and you'll be fine.

As an umpire, I don't give much credence to pitch framing.  If I see a catcher's glove move back to the plate on a borderline pitch, it confirms to me that it missed.  I'm looking at the ball, not how the catcher 'presents it' to me.

I agree, although I have seen some un-framing that has worked the opposite way, especially with catchers sitting too far back losing strikes on low pitches.  That (hypothetical) curveball might have been a strike, but it sure doesn't look like one when you short-hop it.

That last pitch was nasty, as high fastballs are extremely hard to lay off even for the best hitters, especially behind in the count. Not sure why, it just is. Keep watching baseball and you will see those high fastballs work their magic.

For example, when I was playing back in t-ball and my dad would pull the tee up way to eye level, and set the ball way up there, I could barely reach it!

Especially Tight Ones. Impossible to get around on.
