Fortunately, minor league numbers don't translate in a universal way. I imagine it is fairly common for 2 players to have similar minor league numbers but very different MLB numbers.

 

Although yeah, we don't have a lot of replacement options at the moment. Curtiss, if he hadn't just pitched last night. Nick Anderson? Matt Magill?

I have little faith in Duffey but it’s aberrant for a team like the Reds to see five pitches, put four balls in play, and all to fall for hits.

 

I don’t think he’ll be a marquee arm in the pen but I’m not going to toss him out after one terrible appearance.

He wasn't good last year either. The year before that he was downright awful.

His sample size of being good was 10 games 3 years ago.
