"Ironically, a wild Siberian tiger will deliver the game ball to Justin Verlander tonight"

As someone who went through the same educational system as Alanis Morristte (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada), and having suffered slings and arrows for her incomprehension of "irony", might I suggest "Strategically"?

LOL... Yes that would work but honestly... I was just trying to express that an ex-Tiger attacked by an actual Tiger would be almost as interesting as Joe Mauer getting attacked by Mary Kate and Ashley.

Or Mike Moustakas getting attacked by Meghan Markle.

I tip my proverbial cap to you.

Rain on your wedding day would be bad luck. Rain on your wedding day after a week of sunshine filled days would be ironic.

EDIT:

I made the mistake of not reading ahead. Was sniped some time ago.

Carry on.

Did anyone happen to catch A-Rod on Ellen today? Heh ... I can't stand him, but damn it, he was so darned likeable on the show.

His likeability comes off as completely phony when I've seen him on broadcasts.

Of course I might just be biased to feel that way because I don't care for him.

I can't name a single person other than A Rod who's done a complete 180 to become, dare I say, loveable after their sports career.

He's great on Shark Tank and his new show on CNBC.

If all of us that have posted in the game thread showed up to the game, the attendance would probably triple

It's 72 degrees in my living room but in an attempt to show empathy for the players... I am wearing my Bomber Hat and pretending I'm cold.

When Gardy brought in Guerrier to face A-Rod with the bases loaded in 2009 I think I never hated him more.  I hated him because I knew what was going to happen.  I actually went downstairs to get a beer and by the time I poured it into the glass and walked it up the stairs the bases were empty and the Yankees had scored four runs.

I will say this about him.  The guy has a genuine love for the game and he does a good job at the desk.  Hard to say anything bad about the work he has done in front of the camera.  I don't think there is anything phony about his baseball work.

Poll time! What temp do people have their thermostat in the winter compared to summer?

For me, in the winter 68, in the summer 75.

I love listening to him talk baseball.  He and Morneau are both very engaging and interesting when talking baseball.

Basically the anti-Harold Reynolds.

Well, other than the steroids while he was a player ... but yeah ... other than that ... :)
