I don't care if they make money, good for them.  As for trusted it only matters who does or doesn't trust them, for example if black lives matter coverage has improved that # it is politically meaningless and can hide a potential lowering of trust where it politically matters most.  The point is Republicans in my adult life have never had the upper hand in controlling the message.  Remember Republican candidates voters and elected officials have been called racist no matter what, NO MATTER WHAT.  If the media narrative is Donald Trump is racist, and we shout fake news and then you say we're stupid I'll take that.  

 

 

People who are unapologetically racist think Trump is their man. I'll take their word for it and don't really care what the media says. That said, it's not exactly a tough narrative to sell.

There are certainly all kinds of reasons to support Trump, but it can't really be denied that those that support Trump share their support with vile racists.
 

 

I don't like that tactic, it looks shallow and blanket arguments are stupid and disingenuous. I don't know why it would be any less effective for the refrain to simply be: racists support Republican candidates.

While other racists support Democratic candidates.  I don't know what I'm supposed to do.  If someone willing to attend a klan meeting has a similar opinion to me on tax policy should I just lay down and let my politics die?  If racists (as defined?) vote 80-20 Republican what are we supposed to do.  To me it's just more media bias when a Republican says something that can be taken as racist the media is all over it when Democrats do it the excuses come out and the story is killed.

Well like I said, I'd prefer the media to stop saying that Republican candidates are racist, not that mainstream outlets do much of that. Pointing out that racists continue to identify and praise that party is enough. When pledging their support, they are not brining up fiscal issues, it's nearly always social issues.
