Heck of a last scene in that Star Wars teaser!

Lol ... did you happen to read the title of this thread? ;)

That said, links are always appreciated. Saves me a step from looking it up myself.

The Young'n and I went to It, Chapter 2 on Saturday night. We watched It (from a year or two ago) on Friday night via Amazon.

I used to have no interest in scary movies, but my daughter loves them and I have started enjoying them if they are well done. It and It Chapter 2 were pretty good. I prefer the first one, but the 2nd one was solid. It was about 2 hours, 45 minutes though.

The Insidious movies were really good, at least the first and second ones.  Loved how they played off each other.

That reminds me. I need to bring my clown mask to work with me. Yes, we 50-somethings like to have fun scaring each other.

Saw Parasite recently. Lived up to the hype! Very very good. Funny, bitter sweet, lots of feels. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/parasite_2019

Saw Knives out earlier this week. I want to invite Benoit Blanc to my next family reunion. Fantastic film! My favorite this year. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/knives_out

Knives Out was very good

It’s been on my list since before it was released. I’ve been trying to interest my Mom in seeing that one, but she’s so so on it. May have to wait until I get back to ChiTown ... hopefully it will still be playing at my neighborhood theater.

By the way, if anyone is holding out to see Spider-Man, go see it before anyone spoils it for you. The movie is absolutely delightful and surprising at almost every turn. It's probably a top three Marvel movie.

I was on board for the premise but no way did I think they'd be able to make a film bursting at the seams with fan service be so heartfelt and touching in a variety of ways.

Spider-Man was great. A little downer of an ending, but eh.

I can't say I've seen the original West Side Story, but did see something online about the new movie not using Spanish subtitle as a form of respect. That seemed a little too much.

Marvel gets ripped for being sexless and therefore unable to create fully formed emotional characters, but that argument is such nonsense and No Way Home is a testament to that.  That movie threw emotional haymakers that had real tears shed in the audience.  It was fun without being overly quippy, it was a coming of age story, a tragedy, fanservice, and so much more all wrapped into one glorious package.

Marvel might not be Citizen Kane or Casablanca or Goodfellas or whatever....but they consistently tell heartfelt stories that are fun.  I'll buy a ticket for that anytime.  You can keep the overwrought cinema opinions...those movies are great too!.....but if I'm going to a theater I want the kind of product Marvel gives me.  No Way Home was laughs and tears and gut-wrenching and cathartic and all kinds of other great emotions.  That studio knows what the hell it's doing.
