T-Wolves Regular Season Thread

In what way? Parise was a good player for the first few years of that deal, and Suter is still a good player.

Parise is done. Suter is an *******. Net result of 0 championships, and none on the way. These guys we’re both at their peaks when they were signed, and now they’re eating cap until they’re like 55 years old. I thought it was obvious.

Well, I appreciate your passion for the TWolves, and I know you're fond of Wiggins, so I'll respectfully disagree, but move on.

The NBA is the opposite of a young man's game.

Players become superstars at a much younger age than any of the other major sports. So, I'm not sure what you mean by this.

How often do you see a 20 or 21 year old superstar in baseball or football or hockey? Almost never.

In basketball, anyone who is going to be a superstar, is almost always one before he's 22.

Great young players in the NBA put up stats, but young teams don't win games.

Right now Wiggins leads the league in minutes, but is #215 in PER, right ahead of Maximilian Kleber (yeah, who?). Regardless of age, with his upcoming contract, that’s scary. Few NBA players since the good times of the tape-delayed 70s have had such a negative gap between performance and income. I hope something turns it around for him.

I was referring to Wiggins individual lack of development when I made that comment.
It's not at all uncommon for NBA players to be stars by their 4th season, do you agree?

Yeah that's fair.

Wiggins did average 23 a game as a 21 year old though, so let's give him some credit. The regression this year is definitely not a good sign though. Also, Wiggins is just weird how he has such a skill for scoring around the basket, but he has the worst hands and instincts when it comes to rebounding that I've ever seen. Just a weird great athlete overall, if that makes any sense.

He's talented no doubt. But does he want to be great? That's the issue.

Jimmy Butler was quoted in an espn 1500 article, questioning his effort level.

Butler was asked who the most talented guy on the team is, he said, " Wiggins no doubt, the things he can do, and that's at 40%. Imagine what he'd look like at 80%, or better yet 100%?"

How do you motivate a guy like that, after he's already been guaranteed $150 million?

Teague is absolutely ridiculous. I was soooo close to letting into my heart, then he puts Rubio on the deck like that. So uncool. So trashy.

Let's be serious though. You weren't that close to accepting Teague.

He has been hot (shooting %) in Feb/Mar though.

KAT has been incredible (offensively) this season. 41% from 3 and 54% from the floor. Now if Wiggins could do something other than inefficiently scoring some points. It is his time to shine with Butler out.

Every game I turn on the TV and cross my fingers.  Right now, it doesn't look good.

Right now I feel like they will completely miss the playoffs or best case get the 8 seed. Ugh...

Here comes Rose. Oh boy.

Just great. I can sort of see adding a wing but Rose can't shoot or really contribute much anywhere.

Let's hope that he is in the 3rd rotation of players that only plays 3 minutes total every 3 weeks. But you know that he is going to get 12 min/game.

One possible positive about Rose: Thibodeau runs his bench like he’s coaching Game 7 every night, which wears out his players and wastes people who don’t play. At least he will play Rose, which hopefully means more rest for the starters. Of course, having seen Thibodeau for a while now, Rose’s minutes will probably come at the expense of another bench player and the starters will continue to average 35-40 mg until such time as they are ruined.

ROSE's +/- is negative. Jones is positive. and Teague is slightly positive. It will be interesting to see if ROSE has a positive affect on this team.   :)

I think one of Rose or Jones would be playing as a wing when together on the court because wing depth is nil on this team right now. Bjelica (WHAT A GAME!) is starting as a wing and Thibs has made it clear that Crawford is the only wing that he will play.

This move basically steals garbage time minutes from Hunt or in the scenario where Wiggins, Bjelica or Crawford are also injured. Perhaps Rose is better than Hunt but we are doomed in that scenario. I  prefer to play Aldrich/Patton with KAT as a wing.

Wolves = DRose

OKC = Brewer

Now Brewer isn't that great but he is an actual wing player and he is still likely a very good defender. This seems like a much more useful move than DRose but of course Brewer wasn't a Bull.

Jazz, Nuggets, Blazers and Clippers all win (Pelicans lose).

My confidence in the Wolves winning right now is so low that I can only hope that the other teams lose now. That is where we are now. Sad.
