Article: AL Wild Card Game Thread: Twins @ Yankees, 10/3@7:09pm CT

Possibly the worst swing I've ever seen from dozier. Twins should decline their postseason berth next year if they match up with NY. For all of us. I notice the rah rah fans have long since signed off

Yeah, I didn't mention at the time but all of the positivity the folks here had before the game started was unfounded. Yankees clearly have a superior team, Twins just can't win games in Yankee stadium, plus we're a Minnesotan sports team, we don't win playoff series and win new ways to screw things up.

I projected us to lose 6-3, so losing 8-4 is pretty close.

I don't think the talent gap (aside from the BP) is all that far off. But throw in the mental part and maybe now I see why the vegas line was what it was

I projected us to lose 6-3,

I projected the Twins to get lost and then mugged on the way to the stadium, so I was thrilled when they showed up in the dugout.

As always, Game Thread made it fun anyway. Thanks for a great season, everyone!

Good season, major improvements for the core position players. Solid second year for Berrios, plus a possible good mid-ro guy in Mejia. Surprising production and improvements from Polanco, better plate discipline from Rosario, Mauer's bat is back, Sano's future looks bright.

Young team on the rise, needs more pitching. See ya next year!

Great unexpected season, no complaints here (shocking I know).  It will be interesting to see what happens with Molly.  If he does not have an extension in the next day or so, my guess is he won't.  I think I am indifferent either way as FalVine need to do what they think is best but it will be interesting.

At least another reason for us to check TD every day!

Go Cleveland!

Other than the pen, the biggest difference is that none, and I mean NONE, of the Yankees ever take a poor at bat. They are all disciplined professional hitters. Even their young guys. They have been for like ever. The Twins are getting there, but maybe half the lineup is disciplined. That’s a problem, especially in the postseason.

Everyone be sure to stay tuned for ESPN game highlights!

Or just go to work on your cranium with every power tool you own.

On a more positive note, what an unexpectedly fun and promising season, and thanks again to all the folks who make the game threads so great!

Great Year!!!

Sad to see it end.

The Yankees will give the Indians all they can handle.

Agree, and if we can build on this season, and pick up some better pitching and keep everyone healthy  then next year could be the one.

Yep, and a few missed opportunities with RISP and two outs. Can't miss those chances in the playoffs. Just can't.
