I think we shoul all agree that the mantra for this postseason (which absolutely starts with the Wild Card game, and is absolutely to be celebrated) is: "Over? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Bulgarians built Rome in a day? Hell no!"

The Twins currently have the longest winning streak in MLB.

At 4.

Take that, Cleveland.

Take it while you can. Colon is getting the start. And Cleveland is 1.5 games back of home field if they get to the World Series, and only 2 up on Houston for ALCS home field. Do you think they want to sweep this series?

(And I can say that to him ... he's an annoying older brother type.)

Hey now... older brothers are the bestest of all the siblings. They aren't annoying and only want what is best for their younger siblings.

why not celebrate? It's an achievement no one thought they'd make, isn't it? We are way too serious in the world, imo.....have fun, do excess, celebrate life more!

Yeah sure, I guess why not right? It just seems like such a mediocre accomplishment in the grand scheme of things and big picture the Twins should have their sights on a World Series title in the next few years. I go back to the NBA and NHL - the Warriors aren't celebrating by popping champagne when they knock off the #8 seed in the first round, are they?

Of COURSE they'll celebrate, why wouldn't they?  Every team would.

Here are the DBacks this past weekend after securing a WC spot.

Maybe not with champagne but I am guessing they celebrate.    I've never cared for the idea of setting sights on a World Series title in anything but the broadest sense.    I remember in the spring of 2010 Cuddyer said the goal was to win the WS.    Just seemed like the cart before the horse because you can't win the WS in March, or April or any time during the regular season but you can lose it in the regular season by not making the playoffs.   162 games of paving the way to make the playoffs is an accomplishment well worth celebrating even in the next 5 years when we think we might be good.     There are 20 teams that have invested  everything they've got for the last 162 games that are on the outside looking in.   Of course you celebrate.

Given where the Twins were on September 16th 2016 nearing 103 losses and the being terrible for the better part of the past 7 years, you better believe I'm celebrating.

This is hopefully the first step in a series of many steps towards bringing a title back to Minnesota.  Probably not this year, but the experience for the youngsters is invaluable for years to come.
