Buxton - Twins all-time defensive GOAT

Doubles

Recommended Posts

It's amazing. He makes plays look so easy. I'm still not sure if he needs to jump at all the balls he does or if it's because it's so smooth that it looks like he could make the catches without jumping. He's got unreal speed. I can't even imagine all the runs he's prevented directly and indirectly

All time greatest of all time?
Isn't that a bit redundant?

Reminds me of when my bosses would ask for the WAR report. I would chuckle every time cause WAR, in that case, means weekly action report.

On the other hand asking for a WA report would sound childish/babyish.

I remember watching FSN a couple years ago when Buck played for Cedar Rapids. He was playing the hitter to hit the ball to right center. The ball was hit to the warning track in left center. Buck put on his jets, laid out & made a diving catch on the warning track.

I knew then he was a special defensive talent. Nothing's changed my mind about that. Check this out:

WOW!

Hawk pointed it out on the broadcast last night, but I think it bears repeating: even through his considerable offensive struggles & learning process to master hitting, he's never let it affect his defense. That takes an incredible amount of mental resolve.

If Buck can continue to evolve at the plate- yeah, she's showing signs but has a ways to go, of course- his ceiling has no limit, and he could end up being the most important offensive player in the Twins lineup as well.

I never doubted he'd be a star, both offensively and defensively, not even a little bit.

He still has a little ways to go offensively, but I still believe.

Not even a little bit of doubt at the start of this season?

Nope, and I believe my posts in any of the dozens of Buxton related threads will bear that out.

My standard response, even at his worst was that guys drafted that high, with those milb numbers don't tend to bust that spectacularly.

I think about the lowest i got on him was saying that perhaps instead of becoming Willie Mays he only becomes Torii Hunter.
