Article: Should the Twins Shut Down Fernando Romero?

Recommended Posts

I think that the long term goal is to have him pitch in Minnesota at some point next year, not squeeze a couple hundred more pitches out of his arm this year. At this point, control, command and movement have to be as big a factor as speed. He may not have the energy left in his arm to command where that fastball is going or the movement on it is gone, even though it appears to be as fast.

I would finish up his year, by bringing him up after his playoffs are over, just to sit on the bench not pitch and start adjusting to the Twins team and talking to the vets and learning about the group I hope he is part of next year.
