TwinsDaily people said he will be an elite player like Mike Trout or Jose Altuve.

No one here has genuinely said Polanco was going to be comparable to Mike Trout or Jose Altuve, and if they did then they were drunk as all hell.

Didn't see the confusion last night; just read about in in the Strib. Hard to say at this point whether it was Molitor or Barrett who screwed up, but I think this shows that there is room to improve the system of substituting beyond an umpire writing it down. There ought to be some type of electronic system using I-pads or something such that the managers, the umpire, and the scorer can all see and verify substitutions before play resumes.

What... You suggest they spend money on it?

C'mon, Spin. Hard to say who screwed up? Roberts notices it immediately, the thing is reviewed for 20 minutes, and Molitor meekly accepts the outcome.

It's not hard to to say.

And blaming the "system" is even worse.

Molitor messed up.

If that's ok with you, fine.

But don't blame others who actually did their job, and don't blame a system that works just fine and has done so for 150 yrs.

My assumption is that Molitor screwed up but nobody actually said so. If he felt the umpire was at fault could he have played the game under protest? If that was allowed under the rules and he truly thought he had done things correctly he should have done that.

I'm not blaming the system, I'm just brainstorming to see if there's a way to improve it.
