Game thread titles

Evidently there's a game thread title "policy" that requires the Twins be listed first in the title. This defies convention across sports where the away team is listed first and the home team is listed second. Can we change the policy to conform with convention? Its information I like to know and am confused by the current format.

It's not a policy as much as an agreed upon format so there would be consistency to the threads. We've been doing it this way for the last 3-4 years so I'm a little mystified as to why this is an issue now. I guess we all have our pet peeves. Is it really that confusing for you?

Yes, it is confusing. The Twins being listed first in the matchup whether they are home or on the road is unclear and unconventional.

When you see Twins vs opponent ... that's a home game.

 

And when you see Twins @ opponent ... that's an away game.

 

I'm not even sure why we started doing it that way, since, as you say, it's against the 'norm,' but I think it was a 'list the Twins first' reasoning, since this is a Twins fan website. And it's just a game thread.

 

Anyway, I hope that clears up your confusion. Just keep telling yourself "v or vs is home game, @ is away game" and your confusion should go away.
