Are the Twinks just the absolute god-awfullest, moribund-arse team at bunting, or what?

 

MLB'ers should be able to lay one down with a heck of a lot more efficiency that our team seems to.  Get a guy on the ropes, and let him off with a lame bunt attempt.  Sheesh.

You had to bunt there. Polanco advances the runner, then the ground ball by Gimenez may have scored a run or at least doesn't end the inning. We were at the back end of the lineup and you have to try to small ball a run there.

 

You didn't have to. First two guys reach, still two ABs in hand...why give up an out? Especially with a tough pitcher to bunt against

Last year I was pretty loud about the lack of fundamentals on this team. They've improved in many of those areas this season, but the inability to get a bunt down when it's called for is still one of those things that drives me nuts.

Because you put the go ahead run in scoring position with at least two more chances to get them in and take the double play out of the equation.
