Wow, that was one of the best endings I have ever seen! Keselowski wrecking Busch on the last lap, then Amrbose and him battling back and forth.

A lot of people hate the Road Races in NASCAR but I am personally a fan, switches things up quite a bit.

I will never understand NASCAR, even the road races (which are infinitely better than oval races). Give me F1, MotoGP, or any other number of races that feature vehicles that are pure cutting edge tech without the ridiculous weight restrictions.

How it became the most popular form of racing in this country, I will never understand. There is so much out there that is more interesting.

NASCAR as I understand their fans is all about the live show. The festival/tailgate-like atmosphere and the capacity to not pay attention and still root for something evidently is a good time. Though, that bleeds into these people watching the **** on TV which is just strange.

I'm going to go ahead and take a giant leap about you and say that you haven't followed a race series in your life, Pseudo.

If you like racing, the "atmosphere" is there no matter what you're watching. That's what racing is all about, actually. I don't get NASCAR.

One of the most damning things I know about NASCAR is that most of its fans don't watch ANY other kind of racing at all. To me, closely following NASCAR is like watching the RBI race in baseball. To people smarter than a turnip, it just doesn't matter because there's so much more interesting material out there.

Yeah, never followed any racing. Not sure I know the difference between NASCAR and other types.

Yeah....that simply isn't true, the majority of NASCAR fans follow other series as well, Indy Car, Sprint Car, Midgets etc. I know the "hip" thing to say is "oh Nascar fans, bunch of stupid white overweight poor rednecks" when in reality if you check out the demographics the majority have pretty stellar incomes, education, etc. Are there poor, fat, idiot drunk rednecks who goto or watch the races? Sure, but you can find them for any sport. Just go down to your local wal mart and count the number of Dallas Cowboys XXXL jerseys you see.

F-1 sucks, whichever team has the most money ends up winning a race that is usually not even contested. In NASCAR the races are always close and exciting, it's not so much about the car as it is the skill of the driver and the drivers entire team, you can't say that for your F-1 crap.

Also I have been to a NASCAR race and an INDY car race, along with several world of outlaws etc, and I can tell you that the atmosphere at a NASCAR race is 10x greater then any other racing series.

F-1 is more interesting simply because of the bleeding-edge tech used in the series. You want good, exciting racing? Go find a motorcycle race. Doesn't really matter what kind, pretty much all of it is more interesting than NASCAR. Plus, most of them do more than turn left.

None of my NASCAR "friends" (really, more people I know that happen to follow the circuit) follow Indy. Some follow local races (midgets, sprints, and the such) but few follow anything outside of NASCAR and generally, their attention to NASCAR is 100x any other form of racing they might watch.

I look at NASCAR like a one-legged bicycle race. Does the "skill" of the driver factor in to the equation? Sure, but if you let the driver use the other &*^%ing leg (say, turn right or drive a car that weighs less than a Sherman tank), it would be a hell of a lot more interesting. I spent most of my formative years watching almost every form of racing live. I've seen motocross, supercross, grand prix, midgets, dirt track, drag racing, rally, motogp, superbike, NASCAR, sprints, ice racing, off-road truck, Baja, blah blah blah... And I'd rank NASCAR at or near the bottom. It just isn't very interesting to watch cars go in a giant oval for 500 miles. Not when you've seen other kinds of racing that is more exciting in almost any way (it's hard to beat a good off-road truck race like the TORC or Lucas Oils series if the drivers can avoid wrecking half the field in the first few laps). If you want the excitement of pure, unbridled danger, you can't beat a dirt track motorcycle race. I actually dislike the "dangerous" side of racing (hate seeing guys get hurt and I've seen guys actually die from their on-track injuries) but damn, mile dirt track is some crazy-ass &^%$.
