Wow, talk about total system failure. First they call up the wrong guys - not the guys who are doing well in the minors, the wrong guys. Then they don't pitch them with a 6 run lead instead pitching guys whose arms are about to fall off. The wheels on this season started to wobble yesterday and are really wobbling now. Watch, Houston will take the Twins tomorrow and Wednesday and the wheels will come off completely.

Check out season with a toothpick. It may be done.

You make some good points, but let's hope that tomorrow Berrios can go 8 or 9 innings and turn this around. The Twins are coming to Anaheim soon and I hate that damn rally monkey.

Like I said... There was no guarantee that Rucinski or Wheeler don't get lit up either.

The big question to me is still all about trust.

What is the point of calling them up if you don't want to use them.

Why is Vargas down in AAA exactly?

And what does Paulie do tomorrow if Berrios struggles? His pen is still spent because he didn't use his fresh arms until it was too late.

Ervin got the last strikeout by the staff today. Think that might have something to do with the debacle?

A wise man once said that you need to let the opponents hit the ball and let your defense do the work for you.

Perhaps they took that a little too literally today.

Duffey, Rogers, and Kintzler will all have a day of rest. Plus Wheeler. Hopefully a new pitcher too... Randy Rosario, maybe?

That's assuming those guys are available, but yes. That's still a short list of rested options if you can call it that.

He will use Duffey and Rogers and it will be appearance number 3 out of 4 days for them when he does.

Wheeler he throws if Berrios gets bombed. If Rosario is called up... he won't use him either unless Falvey or Lavine calls him up after the game and provides a teaching moment with a stern tone of voice.

Assuming Molitor is actually still managing tomorrow, I think we have no choice but to dump a couple of guys and bring up some fresh arms. I was only half kidding when I said above that a call needs to go to Rochester now and tell the manager that he can't pitch certain guys so they will be fresh for tomorrow and Wednesday. A call to Chattanooga might be in the cards too. You have to stop this now with the bullpen. It is a rock going downhill and is going to get worse if there are no changes made. Early test of the new FO.

All of that because your manager can't manage a bullpen. Cool.

You can almost hear the Twins train derailing. You can not argue with statistics or a terrible manager. A bunch of us have consistantly mentioned how Molitor is out of his league.

If they keep everything the same we will be getting crushed in June and July.

I cannot even get to worked up over Pressly not performing. I think Molitor was asking a bit too much bringing him out again.

However, both Belisle and Breslow are supposed to have the experience to get through these kinds of situations and they both failed.

Bryce Harper threw his helmet at a pitcher and then engaged with him landing at least one solid punch.  I wonder if he'll get a longer suspension then Sano.  Pitcher deserved to get knocked out by the way but that doesn't change things for Harper hopefully they both get 10 games.  Actually hopefully they both get zero and we see more of this cause it entertains me.

Last Tuesday one of the "coffee klatch" (recently returned from Ft. Meyers, FL usher duty) asked me "if I thought the Twins success (to that date...) was due to Molitor?"  I tried to deflect by saying "many are contributing".  I wonder what he will ask about Molitor tomorrow (Tuesday) at coffee? What should I tell him???

Gotta be honest...as a duck thrown objects in my direction...im not that down on Molitor at this point even though I have disagreed with various moves made today and before today. Why?

He was the manager for the surprising 2015 season. I really like some of the moves and various lineups he's used this season. If managers, coaches, QB in football and all sports get all the blame when you lose, you also have to give praise when the team performs well. And this season is still a he'll of a turn around from 2016.

To be fair, the coaching changes and advisors and new analytics, plus player development have all lead to the turn around. I'm not saying Molitor is THE GUY moving forward, but this team/roster is not yet a finished product. And less than a year even on the job, I'm not going to bash the FO either, even though there have been a couple moves and non moves made I disagree with.

No one said Rucinski was the second coming of Mariano Rivera. But, he did manage to pitch a full inning without giving up 5 runs. Ryan Pressly did 0 of those.

Yet Rucinski might be the only one who gets demoted. Belisle and Pressly who both have 8 plus ERA stay. I guess as long as you are a veteran who has some past success can stay in Minnesota bullpen as long as you want.

I think the teaching moment should involve pink slips of paper and handshakes.

Molitor, I thought, was brought in so there could be a little bit of innovation. Instead, Molitor seems to be an old-school manager who talks analytics. Maybe Molitor is good with lineup construction but I find his use of the bullpen to be rather questionable as of late.

This is what get me the most I think. Even if you bring in Rucinski and Wheeler and they get shelled but eat up the remaining innings and save the rest of the pen, long-term that's a win for me if I'm Molitor. I'd have most if not all of my bullpen options back starting tomorrow. Now he's screwed himself by putting himself in the same situation he was in today. If Wheeler and Rucinski get pummeled and I lose, so be it as long as I'm able to rest my entire bullpen in the process moving forward.

The last 2 losses are tough.  Blame Molly all you want for both of them, but there have been a lot of lot of opportunities for players to step up and be the hero and no one has stepped up to answer the call.
