Movies:

Crash - everyone says it's so great, but can you remember why it's so great?

Avatar - I'm not sure what we were thinking at the time to make it one of the highest grossing movies of all-time... The movie without the 3D distractions is nearly unwatchable.

Inception: Is this a dream? Inside a dream? INSIDE A DREAM?

TV Shows:

I'm with Dave on Game of Thrones... Tried multiple times and still can't get past the 3rd episode.

Big Bang Theory - I'm shocked that the show has been on this long, and one of the most watched shows on TV. It's not funny.

Music:

U2

Luke Bryan - or really any country music band would suffice

Movies - Avatar, the Matrix movies, American Beauty, Hurt Locker, Interstellar ...

TV - Walking Dead, Mad Men

Music - I have no idea what kids listen to these days. There's lots of crappy music on but I have no idea who signs it. Probably Justin Bieber. I'm old.

I probably sound like a gigantic snob but there's not a single J.J. Abrams movie I care to watch twice, and I might be done watching anything he produces again. He's obviously an expert moviemaker, nothing he's made is "terrible." But damn is everything he touches 100% disposable. Just TV/movie crack.

Movies: Guardians of the Galaxy - as previously discussed.

Bands: Genesis - bombastic, I never could get into them.

TV: most episodic TV, but I'll single out Gray's Anatomy - I hope they weren't shouting at or flirting with each other, or especially stopping to give a speech, in the surgery room when I had my gall bladder out. My wife probably thinks I can't hold my tongue when she's watching it, but I blurt out probably only 5% of what I'm thinking when it's on. Some episodes I manage to get through entirely silently, anymore. I just don't get what itch that show scratches.

With any series that goes on for what feels like infinity, even if I liked it initially, I'm usually out after a few years. There are only so many story lines and they usually get recycled time and time again but with other characters. That said ... it's 'Grey's Anatomy.' ;)

Movies:

Most stupid comedies, just not my genre.

TV:

Any zombie show, isn't it the same episode every week?

While I can like Big Bang, I can't see how it is this highly rated.

Do people like CSI NO?

Any hospital show that isn't ER, probably.

Music:

Hmmmm.....tough. I can usually like a song by most anyone. I'll have to think about this

Oh, wait, Springsteen. I feel like i hsould like him, and if you recall a game thread a month or so ago, I streamed his hits, and rated them. DON'T GET IT.

Movies: Every post-Life Aquatic Wes Anderson film. Particularly because everything up to that point was so good, then he figured he could just write the same basic story over and over. And Moonrise Kingdom (generally well liked) is, like, the most boring, self-satisfied movie ever, imo.

Also, The Room: It's terrible...I get it.

TV: Star Trek, all of it. Married with Children. House of Cards.

Music: Kendrick Lamar - not terrible, just lost on me. Most contemporary hip hop is lost on me, in fairness, but I can't find anything distinguishing about Kendrick, even though he's regarded by many as the king of the world at the moment.

Also: any banjo-pickin,' beard wearin,' oohs-and-la-la-laden, big-room-drum-sound-havin,' bullsh** "indie" "folk" garbage. Mumford and Sons make my blood boil.

I, uh, don't know what to say to someone that doesn't like seasons 3-6 of TNG, frankly.

I am with you on House of Cards. No redeeming characters at all.....and too serious.

I like Kendrik, but like you, not a huge hip hop guy in general. We won't agree on Mumford and Sons at all. Great hooks, very good/great guitar work. Good harmonies.

In regards to Kendrick Lamar, the bar is pretty low to be known as the best rapper alive. It's either him or Drake, and Drake is too poppy. I feel like I'm 27 going on 47 when I hear the names of rap artists today... These are real rapper names:

- Lil Uzi Vert

- Lil Yachty

- Lil Pump

- Fetty Wap

uh wut?

Does Drake rap? Could have fooled me.

He used to early on... Then they called him on his cell phone, and he knew when that hotline bling, he would sell out to the pop crowd.

+1 on mad men.

Also, good point on Bruce Willis. Though, I do like Looper, but mostly only for aesthetic/thematic reasons. Not for Bruce Willis reasons,

Police Academy movies without Guttenberg

TV Shows

Golden Girls

Roseanne

I don't really have any disdain for these, but my wife likes to watch the re-runs and I'm really not into nostalgia and re-living the late 80's-early 90's.

Music

KISS
