Actually will surround the baby birds on the ground and in a murder of crows..... take down, that walking baby bird on the ground...and murder it.

But, that's nature.......

Wow, did that initial comment go right over my head. Didn't even part my hair because it missed by a country mile.

Texas Grackles in chorus create more of a rattling sound rather than a buzz, and they build things up to where the sound has been described as that of a flushing toilet. No kidding.

All I know... It was quiet and then immediately in unison... extremely loud and like nothing I've heard before. I couldn't see a single bird but along with all the noise... The tree started shaking and I mean really shaking.

If I had to describe the sound... It sounded like the Ghost of Lee Harvey Oswald angry... much larger... and coming out of the nearby tree.

My heart didn't stop racing for a couple of weeks.

Whole Foods believe it or not has REALLY tasty crow! They say it's sourced locally, so I feel good knowing that it's not a processed crow from some far away land.

Trader Joes has them more pre-processed.....if you are into less work. Those are not sourced locally, though, so take that for what it's worth.

I started liking too many of Mike's posts so thought I'd just write this one post instead ... I agree with everything you've said about Springsteen in this thread. I've never been a fan for all the reasons you've mentioned.

or as he'd say:

I'VE NEVER BEEN A FAN*

*edit, but it would take him about 7 minutes to do so.

Catching up on the topics - yes we have our share of grackles here - we used to go to the Sonic Drive-in frequently when my daughters were smaller and there was always a one-legged grackle there scavenging for dropped food. Bruce Springsteen?  He is OK but I am no fanatic - not like I am of the Twins.  Speaking of the Twins, I will be going to the game tonight down here so I hope we fair better tonight than the last couple of days.   How about a Buxton HR?    Last year when I went to the game we beat the crap out of Texas so I hope that is repeated tonight although with Hughes pitching it most likely will be the other way around.

Years ago, while working in Washington, D.C., I was sent to a conference in Dallas. I was alone and wasn't familiar with Dallas, so I asked one of the locals what there was to do in Dallas. He actually said to me, "Y'all could go to the book suppository."

And I'm sure you told him where he could stick that suggestion...

Hughes is pitching? Is the park where the Rangers play considered a hitters park?

The easy answer is any park where Hughes is pitching is considered a hitters park.   :)   Lefthanded hitters have it a little easier.   Any guesses on how far Gallo will hit one tonight?   Hopefully we keep up but Perez usually pitches better at home than on the road.

So, no Kepler tonight vs LHP Perez.  Does Molitor not understand that Kepler isn't going to improve vs LHP if he doesn't play against LHP?

Polanco hitting 5th between Grossman and Vargas?  Am I the only one who thinks Polanco should hit second everyday?

Really not a fan of platooning a 22/3 year old, in his first full season, on a losing team. Really not a fan. How many games has he sat?

I'm not sure he realizes, that Kepler is our 2nd or 3rd best hitter. He should be in the lineup righty or lefty almost everyday.

Kepler is sitting while Buxton is playing center field. I honestly don't understand that. Unless Kepler is hurt, it makes no sense.
