Man, I was really worried after that double steal and we had to throw till second. Hughes looked pretty rattled and last year's Twins wouldnt have found a way to come back. They are definitely showing some more poise in close games. Baby steps just getting back to a functional ball club.

Classy move by Dozier giving complete credit to Buxton for drawing a walk ahead of his double. I think this is what leadership looks like.

He's also right. The Buxton from a week ago (or, hell, even yesterday) would have ended the only inning they scored in. Yeah it's a team sport, but that was huge.

I wish I had 1/4 the ounce of talent that Kyle Gibson does to be on a major league mound. He look's so pained and so tortured emotionally with his facial expressions. Like he is enduring a mental beatdown each time he goes out there. That or extremely constipated in need of a laxative so he can go.

Baseball is a kids game played by grown men. It is supposed to be fun, this dude Gibson isn't letting the game be fun for him. Yeah they are professionals and it is a business, but it the game of baseball is still at it's core a fun game to play.

You know, I think you nailed the thing that makes me unnerved about Gibby.  Kind of like the face Ewan McGregor made whenever he had to hit any high notes singing in "Moulin Rouge."  He didn't look like he was in the throes of musical ecstasy, not like he was enjoying himself at all.  He looked more like Gibby on the mound.

Haven't read and probably won't read much of this. I was traveling during much of the game and listened to the Texas radio feed on Sirus/XM for most of the first few innings. There was something the Rangers announcers did correctly that none of the Twins announcers do. In Spanish s is pronounced s. Not z. One would think that the least someone making their living on the airwaves could do is make the effort to pronounce names correctly, especially baseball announcers saying Hispanic names. Minor issue, yes, but it bugs me.
