Spiderman Homecoming

I like how they redefined Parker in Civil War. I liked the Tobey movies except for #3. I didn't watch the ones with James Garfield... it didn't seem right and was too soon.

The whole boat scene with Stark maybe gave away too much, but this movie could be something great!

So Sony gets Marvel to get Spiderman back on track and is now talking about yanking him from the MCU universe:

Probably not the best time for them to drop that bomb considering they are ramping up to promote this new movie; I'd be less inclined to invest in Spiderman if he isn't going to be in the MCU for long. Or it could be an idle threat to try to force some concessions out of Marvel/Disney.

I knew Sony would figure out a way to screw this up (I read that article yesterday).

As for Homecoming, I'm tired of Spider-Man... but this movie looks good. I'm glad they found a way to reinvigorate the franchise, even if I'm kinda done with Spidey for the time being.

(I love Spidey but he's been overexposed for the past 15 years)

Not really into another spidey, frankly. I liked that he was a naive kid in MCU, that was great.

I love Tom Holland as Spidey. For once, someone finally got Peter Parker right on film and directly translated the comic book character to the big screen.

Not that some of the previous movies weren't good in their own right but they were never more than halfway there when it came to Peter Parker.

QUEENS ACCENT. I was sold the moment I heard him speak and it only got better from there. The fact he never shut up while on-screen was so quintessentially Spider-Man. He's an annoying, but charming, kid. The earlier movies never drove that point home.

This genre is always only as good as the villain. The fact that they got Michael Keaton gives me mucho high hopes.

Michael Keaton in this movie may be the only reason why I'll rent it at Redbox in the future. Like others, I'm worn out from Spider-Man movies.

Have you seen Arrival? SciFi, not fantasy, of course.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was the best fantasy film recently made.

We kept meaning to see Arrival, and have not. We will when it is streaming.

We somehow never discussed FB....but then, we've mostly been hiking and other things the last year....

I never thought it possible, but I'm kind of over saturated with mediocre super movies....

Logan and Legion are really, really good.  And Guardians of the Galaxy is soon to arrive, if nothing else that movie will be fun as hell.
