Pardon My Dinger

There's a good case to be made for Torts.... Making Columbus of all places a legit hockey organization. However, Boudreau is coaching up essentially the same roster Yeo had and we're one of the best teams in the league.

One reason I think Torts might be out is that he's such an a-hole, and the media really doesn't care for him too much.

Forgot to mention Trotz. He won last year, so why not this year too? I haven't gotten to see the Caps much this year, but every indication is that they're bowling over everybody.

One of my all-time favorite Minnesota Twins' players was Kirby Puckett..  Oh wait, his seems to be a hockey discussion here. Well Kirby's last name would be a good one for a hockey player, I guess. I'd better get off of this discussion, since being from the south, I know nothing about hockey. Although one of my law school roommates at UNC played hockey at Boston College in undergraduate school. I think that's why Ed Crotty was so rough when we played basketball in the gym at UNC.

What voting body are you referring to?

The PHW body that votes on this.

They always have a heavy heavy heavy bias when it comes to the east coast the original six.

East coast original six? So, Bruins and Rangers? Because the rest of the original six aren't on the east coast.

The broadcasters association votes on this award, not the writers, the PHW do the Hart and the Norris, among others.

There is no East Coast Orig 6 bias, a Ranger coach has never won the award. Not sure who else is East Coast other than Boston, and I'm not sure I'd consider any of their winners undeserving. Even if we throw in Montreal and Toronto, that's only 3 more winners.

Of the 42 winners of the award, only 11 of them have been from Original 6 teams. Considering how many teams have been in the NHL during that time, that seems rather equitable.

Was supposed to say East coast AND the original six.

MTL is east coast as well fwiw and most people consider Toronto an eastern(ish) coast team as well.

Well, not to get into a geography lesson, I can see Montreal; even though they aren't coastal, they are east and pretty much in line with New York. But to include Toronto in that is ridiculous; it's like saying Cleveland is east coast.
