Carnac: "Julio Urias, Jose De Leon, Yadier Alvarez, and Clayton Kershaw."

Ed: Julio Urias, Jose De Leon, Yadier Alvarez, and Clayton Kershaw. And what could these gentlemen possibly have in common, oh Great One?

Carnac: Those are the names that come to me. Unless you have some information about Walker Buehler.

Ed: I have no such information, Your Magnificence.

Carnac: When exactly did you ever have any information?

Ed: Only in your presence, Sir. We drink at the fount of your wisdom.

Carnac: Fount? May the firehose of Internet Rumormongering fill your basement and damage your sump pump.

Ed: Sage prognostication, oh Seer of Seers. Now, would you be so kind as to open the envelope?

Carnac: "Name four pitchers who will serve on the Dodgers' welcoming committee for free agent Brian Dozier in 2019."

Who'd we trade Alex Meyer to again?

Yet another classic bit of hilarious irony from Jonathan Winters!

"But if I really say it, the radio won't play it." You couldn't get a lot past the CBS censors, nor radio, but put it sideways and the subversion sometimes slipped through.

We traded him AGAIN? Ugh. This front office is no better than the last one.

My bad...

Perhaps i could have been more clearer if i had said something like "Please remind me who we traded him to." For some reason, i thought it was Los Angeles...

Please don't blame the FO for my dubious communication skilz.

I won't, but someone has to take the blame for your spelling.

#3 If Brian got by with only one long night for commenting on the sister in law, he was lucky. Some have experienced the Ice Age. And while eventually the ice may melt, be prepared for an arctic blast 25 years from now, in the midst of a heated discussion over who left the garage door open overnight! :)

Is this thread the one where joking is allowed? If so, then why is no one joking in here?

I thought it's, because since about page two, we were standing for the National Anthem..I was getting mad at all the posts going on....that is a poor "wanna be", for a joke   ;) ....GO TWINS !!!!!

Alex Meyer was traded to the Angels. Baseball America lists him as their #3 prospect. Probably don't want to trade Dozier there.

Aha, i kinda figured that was likely my error. Them Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim...

And him being less likely to be traded means all the more reason he would be around to welcome one Brian Dozier to LA...

(that much of my comment i'd thought through, believe it or not)

Epiphany...

As the old adage goes. nature abhores a vacuum.

Without an actual baseball game driving the thread, what other games do people enjoy?

My gramma taught me Russian Bank long ago, and occasionally i go in search of others who know the game.

My parents also had a board game called Wheel 'n' Deal, (unique from others of the same name as it has a Squirrelville Detour)

And last but not least, somewhere out there is a game my sister found at a store going out of business whose name i don't recall. But it was a 2 player game in which each player had 10 dice, and the only element of chance decided who went first. It was essentially a chess game where the dice were pieces that moved the number of hexagons showing, and the players sum remained the same, so if a piece was taken, other dice were incremented. Most intriguing, i found it, but never played it extensively...

It sounds like you may have been tricked into getting excited about a mathematics.

My condolences.
