Buehler is not a lottery ticket

He is 1 of the 5 best prospects, was drafted as a college pitcher and has 1st round pedigree. He might have been in the majors right now if it wasn't for the injury setback.

You're right, Buehler is too much of a prospect to be considered a lottery ticket throw in.

As others have said, Dave's been consistent that Stewart is considerably too much for the third piece. As is Lux, and as is Buehler. That the Dodgers are afraid of giving a third player who will "burn them" later on.

This does seem to open a negotiating tactic, though. How about Falvey drop the demand for Alvarez and instead take back Buehler, Stewart and Lux?

Dodgers keep their two best prospects in Bellinger and Alvarez (and that $32mm investment), and the Twins get four excellent prospects, headlined by the player everyone seems to agree upon, De Leon?

I think  Alvarez > Lux+Stewart+Buehler personally.

I've had to hide way too many posts considering how many warnings there have been about this thread. There is nothing inflammatory in the post some people have taking objection with, he provided a link dated prior to this thread. No one is picking on anyone and there is getting to be a sense of tribalism in this thread.

I think one of the front offices would've had this thread nuked, if they're really watching this thread like Dave said. One of the Dodger sites had an insider (later revealed to be the Diamondbacks traveling secretary) break news on their site, such as Greinke to the DBacks, exact details of Kenta Maeda's weird contract, etc.). Anyways, one of the Dodger officials found out and completely wiped him off the internet. I hope this doesn't happen to Dave if this deal goes down.

My thoughts are if this is not resolved by Wednesday afternoon stick a fork in it until January 9th or so. With holidays both teams are going to finally agree to pick this up at a later date. My thoughts are that the Twins keep trying to push for  Bellinger to be in the deal and get shot right down. Or they are trying to get Buehler/Lux as a 3rd piece and get shot down. I would think LA is holding out and demanding only 1 of the top 10 prospects be in the deal with 3 other lesser parts included.

This exactly. Which is why I'm having a tough time believing Alvarez is an actual piece. Reputable sources such as Heyman/Passan have tweeted that DeLeon is considered the centerpiece. Can you reference a reliable source that has mentioned Alvarez other than somebody in passing saying "gee golly it'd be nice to have him?" You said others had confirmed it since you reported his name on this thread.

It was a foregone conclusion that talent had to go to get talent back.  So, Dave took a chance on looking legit.  Whoopsie Daisy.

I cannot make sense of this comment.

I thought the thread was about a trade of Dozier.
