4th piece? what can we expect the first 3 to be?

De Leon, Alvarez or Bellinger, 3rd and 4th aren't sure yet, but honestly, don't get your hopes up for those last two players (or one player) They likely will be 20-30 org top prospects, not top ten. That SS Lux is definitely off the table as a 3rd piece.

David Vassegh (Dodger Talk co-host) current at Winter Meetings, just on radio in LA, said he spoke with Dodger GM Farhan Zaidi in last hour, Dodger offer to Twins still there, but he doesn't see it happening in next 12 hours.

We want a deal, and a starting pitcher capable of having an ERA less than five. Dozier can be replaced, let's go before the Tigers swoop in with Kinsler.

I'm more worried about the Palehose and Todd Frazier.  They're scooping up prospects like nobody's business.

Typical GM smoke screen :)

Vintage Dave - this place will never be boring.

Everything seems like this should be a deal for both sides.

It would be funny to go back in time to the first half of last season when Dozier was in a slump and read the perceptions of him. Getting two top 50 prospects at that time would have seemed preposterous.

De Leon and Bellinger would be a great deal with fairly low risk since both are close to major league ready. De Leon and Alvarez might be better long term, but there is a huge amount of risk associated with a low A pitcher. I'd be relatively happy with either option so I'm hopeful that something gets done.

I prefer De Leon, Alvarez ++ over De Leon, Bellinger ++.  However, I can see why the Twins might be scoff a bit at the second version of the deal.  Need more pitching for this to work.

Kinsler is not going to LA. He has a no trade clause and has asked for an extension to waive it. I could see LA backing away and getting Brandon Phillips on the cheap from Cincinnati with the Reds sending money in a deal.

Davew, how would our return compare to the return the sox got for Eaton?

I mean that's all up to one persons interpraration of talent.

I think it will fall short a bit, but De Leon + Alvarez or Bellinger is a nice package.

I do like the nationals package more though, no doubt. But Eaton as mentioned previously has more value

My personal preference would be De Leon and Alvarez.

This system needs upside pitchers biiiiigggggg time.

I get the sense that the Twins new FO would prefer this as well...I mean look at how Cleveland built a winner: pitching pitching pitching.

I'll believe this when I see it now. No trustworthy reporter has said anything about this

There's been Dodgers/Twins Dozier buzz for 3 weeks now. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it happens, and neither should anyone else.

The Twins better make a deal soon.

Because... it's plausible in my mind that the White Sox are going to be offering the Dodgers Frazier and Robertson. If the Dodgers like that package and I'd imagine they would. The White Sox could pick off the guys the Twins want.

Dave, thanks for the scoop. Hoping more Alvarez than Bellinger, but woild take either. Somewhat disappointed Lux is not the third piece. Wish the Twins could forego the fourth piece if it was DeLeon, Alvarez/Bellinger and Lux. No harm if you're incorrect on this one. Fun reading trade chatter!

I'm not saying that I don't believe it. I actually want them to trade Dozier. But I've been locked into twitter and MLB Network for the last few hours and I haven't seen anything on a Dozier trade. News could break any minute now but I just don't see it happening.

I'd worry about this more if Frazier wasn't in line to make twice as much next year with just one year of team control.

I think the Dodgers want Dozier and Turner.   And they may not be able to afford both Turner and Frazier.

Concur.

The stove is hot. Red hot.

Hot enough that if you touch it, you'll get 3rd degree burns.

It's going to take months for the stove to get this hot again.

Strike while the iron is hot as they say.

Yeah, that is a valid concern I think. Also, think what they could get for Quintana, Frazier, and Abreu?!

I would imagine if there are four pieces coming back, then the Twins are either giving something else up besides Dozier, or they are getting quantity, rather than quality - in other words, somewhat lesser prospects but more of them.

In any event, I hope this is true. There is an awful lot of Twins-Dodgers smoke and it's difficult to envision something not getting done.

Jesus lets hope it isn't quantity...

Hi Dave,

I modified the title of this topic just so it was clear from the front page that it isn't Twins Daily claiming this, like a breaking story. Then I also modified the first post just so it was clear to those clicking on it that this is your personal source and not TD reporting this. I just thought I had better give you an explanation, in case you were wondering. Good luck on the breaking news!

I, for one, appreciate the clarification.
