Third, adding a pitching piece moves everyone down the staff so a LH pitcher who might have been your 5th starter can become a shut down loogy.

Is intrigued by your analysis and would like to learn more:

Just a note, let's keep this civil (especially if it doesn't pan out).  I'd rather not see a repeat of some of those threads.

Just a note:

I've posted with Dave since BYTO, and while I've never met him, this is not the first time he's mentioned of a source in the Twins org, and he's also referenced directly to Brock that Brock knows who it was. I cannot speak for reliability of said source, or even if this person is still in the org.  I also know he likes to pull people's chains :)

Hopefully, he's right as I'd be pretty happy with a Bellinger/De Leon/pieces  trade

Hard to imagine the Dodgers wanting any of our pitchers, especially one on a bad contract who hasn't performed consistently with the options they already have.

They could see him the same way the Diamondbacks saw Shelby Miller. #NeverForget

If he's wrong then shame on us for putting too much stock in it. But that goes for all early reports of trades that are not soon confirmed by someone else.

That said, how reliable has he been in the past with these reports or is he pulling our chain?

Twins asked for him as a third piece, Dodgers rebuffed.

There is an outside chance he could be the second piece though.

Very solid player with professional approach as an 18 year old. Saw him play several games in Arizona Rookie League this summer and he stood out. Took great at bats and while he had some errors at SS he has the tools to be a solid MLBer IMHO.

ITT: A lot of people overrating Brian Dozier and underrating Adam Eaton.

I'd be very happy with a Bellinger and De Leon haul.

Agree. Bellinger and De Leon would be great.  3rd and 4th pieces can be lottery ticket players for all I care. Icing on the cake.

Talking about Gavin Lux......see his name wasn't in my prior post.

DaveW. - Many Twins fans in NYC? I'm in Brooklyn and only know a couple in the area.

Niiiicce, What part of Brooklyn?
I'm in Williamsburg myself.

Yeah there are quite a few Twins fans, I remember during game 163 several years ago a bunch just randomly showed up at Bar None (Vikings bar) to watch the game.

I actually run this meetup group: https://www.meetup.com/Minnesota-Vikings-Twins-Wild-TWolves-Fans-in-NYC/

Obviously weekly Vikings watch parties are well attended (the co organizer sets those up), but in the past we have even set up some Wild playoff watch parties.

Lake Street (In Green point) gets some Minnesota fans in quite a bit as well, that bar is owned by 4 Minneapolis dudes, and a couple of them were in Spoon or the Hold Steady IIRC. Foleys gets some Twins fans in the city, and Bar None/Jack Doyles are Vikings HQ.

FWIW I never said this was my Twins source (who is still around), I said it's either a source with the Dodgers or the Twins.....

I'm 3 of 4 when it comes to the Twins.

I have gotten a few right in regards to other teams (Baseball and Football mostly) over the last decade as well. Most of those were given to buddies at various sports websites.

Have a source within one of the two teams listed above. I was just texted that the deal is all but done, just a couple questions on the 4th piece to come back in the trade.

Gomez, Guerra, Humber, Mulvey. Git r dun.

What are your correct Twins moves? Nolasco? Herrmann? What were they?

Remember when we were all upset that we didn't get Mike Pelfrey in the deal? Yeah, those were the days.... quantity never trumps quality. Hope Falvey and Levine take that to heart.

Gomez, man, what a frustrating cat he was.

We finally have people running this team that are in the NOW! Why don't we all sit back and relax and let them make the changes that hopefully help us to contend in the years to come. Dozier needed to go and what we get back I'm sure is what the new brains feel is good for us going forward. I AM SO FLIPPING HAPPY WE HAVE A NEW DIRECTION!

I agree, but speculating is fun.
