Anyone know if the Twins FO contingency has landed back in the Twin Cities?

If the Pohlad's were on the hook for the bill they were probably flying this:

Might be awhile yet....

My take is... The deal falls through.

As I've said in other threads, the Twins need at least two starters they can plug in to the rotation NOW. I just don't see LA going for that – one plus prospects, but not two now, or one #1 starter.

The Twins, rightly, expect a lot for Dozier. I have no doubt that DaveW has a valuable source. I have little doubt that the Dodgers made a reasonable offer for Dozier, including pitching. I have no doubt that the Twins brass listened intently and seriously.

But in the end, I don't think what the Dodgers will offer will be enough for the Twins to do the deal. News reports indicated Falvey & Co. needed to be "overwhelmed" by the offer.

Conjecture here on the players involved is just that: Conjecture. That's not fact. It's not reports that have two or three sources. It's conjecture. It's fun, it's entertaining. But it's not an MLB trade deal.

I assumed they'd pay for their own transportation home (or hitch-hike).  But any extra hotel fees would go back on the original card used to book the room.

On that note -- maybe the Dodgers executives raided the Twins minibar for snacks during the negotiations, and they have to fully settle that bill before the trade can proceed.

The deal hinges on the Dodgers taking responsibility for the "movie" that showed up on the hotel bill.

Deal falling through is a very distinct possibility. But it also entirely possible the Twins could leverage the Dodgers offer into another offer elsewhere that is even better. Twins hold the power here. They have something multiple teams want. In terms of the report that Levine said they need to be "overwhelmed", I think that needs to be taken with a grain of salt because what else should he have said? "Oh yeah we are just gonna trade him for the best offer" that would signal desperation and give the buyers more power. It is good to play down the notion of your willingness to trade your players because that can make them more attractive then if you just want to get rid of a guy

That "movie" was in fact ordered by Twins ownership:

Let's get meta here.

If a trade falls in the forest, does it make a sound?

If a trade is scooped on a message board, is it a scoop?

Can a trade occur with all the relevant parties on a plane?

Ah yes, Billy and his early porn addition to Night Nurses, which he ordered numerous times.

Mrs Ash: Where have you been? You look like hell.

Ash: I went to a trade rumor, and a game thread broke out.
