So question, is this thread about a legitimate Dozier trade deal, or click bait?

Getting hard to tell......15 pages ago.

Legitimate trade deal. Ask Brock, he knows about the legitimacy of my source(s).

Click Bait serves me exactly how? I don't get revenue from this website....yet ;)

Just to recap everything that I know:

-Trade is imminent apparently. It missed the 24 hour cutoff, but could happen at any moment.

-No significant second piece will be sent from the Twins side (no major league talent, maybe a toss in non prospect though)

-Puig, Lux, Urias all off the table. Lux could ultimately be put back in, but the odds are close to nil. Twins have less than zero interest in Puig, likely they would ask for Dodgers to take a bad contract in return, Dodgers have no interest since there are other teams around the league interested in Puig straight up.

As far as you know, is it still looking like De Leon, one of Alvarez or Bellinger, and 2 others? Or are there any updates on that?

You didn't say two of De Leon/Bellinger/Alvarez

Yes, it sounds like the Twins hang up is they still want better prospects as part 3/4 of the trade. Where as the Dodgers seem to be trying to give them some low upside guys who would be non tendered eventually anyways (think Pat Dean level) Guys like that aren't terrible to take back in trades, but the Twins know they are in full rebuild mode, they don't care if a guy can provide 1.0 WAR in 2017, its about finding a guy who could have a chance (even if its small) to be a 3.0-5.0 WAR player in 2020 or so.

That has been established a few times, sorry I forgot to mention that part as well.

I would love to have Puig, the player. I understand why they wouldn't want him though.

I would to, in a heartbeat, it would be a great buy low candidate who if he comes back to form could be flipped for a monster deal at the deadline or in the future at the very least.

I do question how Puig would fit in on a 100+ loss team though, and Minneapolis is certainly no LA. Still I think the risk would be well worth the reward, but Falvey and co not wanting a possible headache is understandable.

You won the popular vote, Dave, but ...

(just kidding).

I applaud your sense of humor!

Thanks! It's been a fun thread at the very least, even though I have gotten a couple nasty private messages from people...which is weird, it's just baseball and its JUST a trade, some people take things a little to seriously.

Just to set things straight:
I was called an attention whore in the message by a member who I won't mention.

This isn't the case at all, I have a legit source, I have messaged background on the source to Brock and another Mod at this point, if they think I'm full of it or something they can feel free to lock the thread/ban me or whatever. I'm not looking to "make a name" for myself or anything of the sort, I don't have a blog I'm trying to promote, I don't even have a twitter! If someone gets this upset over a thread on a message board I would suggest they calm down a bit, or just ignore the thread as a whole! Plenty of other things to read on the internet or even this site as a whole!

To the 99% of you who are being cool, nice and having a good time, thanks! Either way no matter when the trade goes down, it's been a nice distraction the last day or so!

I for one thinks it's pretty cool you shared this information with TD.  You could have just as easily kept it for yourself and people you personally know.  Instead you shared it and gave us something to talk about on a cold snowy day.  Even if it doesn't happen it was fun and I still believe you have a source (even sources are wrong or things change).

Late to the party, but want to add my thanks to Dave for sharing his info and for everyone who has contributed (for the most part) to a fun and interesting thread. Here's hoping the deal closes. For my part, hoping for De Leon, Bellinger and Stewart.

Yeah, like I mentioned before, sometimes sources are wrong, ESPN biffed it big time the other day when they were reporting Sale to the Nationals was a done deal, they also biffed it with Herman to LSU being a done deal (college football)

I'm still very confident this comes through very soon, if not? Meh, I will take the "heat" and make my source buy me my next beer when I see him or her!

I know this is anecdotal evidence, but I knew about the Cam Newton "discipline for not wearing a tie" about 30 minutes before it was even reported. One of the benefits of spending over a decade in the sports business world I suppose :) Not bragging or anything (though it may come off like that) it's just fun to share some of these tidbits from time to time with friends or my friends here at Twinsdaily.

My pleasure!
I would slightly prefer Alavrez instead of Bellinger, but I would be super happy either way!

Thought I'd never catch up to give my thanks to you, DaveW. Without this thread I would to try to find something to do In my retirement days. Instead I get to sit on the edge of my chair waiting for ... , well waiting. Good thing I've been practicing the sitting and waiting.

Concur. At the very least, you brought the gang back together before the holiday break!

You're like the grandpa who announces that him and grandma are getting a "divorce" in order to get everyone back under one roof for Christmas.

Something you want to talk about, Van?
