DaveW: Dodgers trade for Dozier to be completed within the next 24 hours

Has anyone else thrown on their breakup sweatpants, buy a gallon of ice cream, put JoJo "Too Little, Too Late" on repeat, and try not to cry as a result of Dozier not being traded?

Just me?

Also, she sang the National Anthem at the Vikings Monday night game against the Giants earlier this year.  I was way too giddy for mid 30's year old man watching 25 year old sing who's prime was 10-15 years ago.

She was on the Throwback Thursday playlist on Spotify today. Me and some cube neighbors had a moment to that song this afternoon....

I have now started listening to a JoJo channel on youtube.

Thanks, Vanimal now my day is ruined/made much better.

If this trade gets done the way DaveW has reported it, I think he gets to (has to?) write the trade analysis piece for the website.

Was it just me, or was the Rule 5 draft result...complicated?

I'm still not clear on everything that went down there, but I think we may have accidentally traded TC Bear and the recipe to Surly Furious in the confusion.

Just think if DeLeon had Casto in AAA last year, that 11.2 k/9 would have been 27.5 k/9!

Well now you're just being silly. That number would be his Park Adjusted Frameable Ball Flinging Rate (PAFBFR). I'm more interested in his UNadjusted Frameable Ball Flinging Rate (UNaFBFR), which we all know would be 24.73 K/9 or his XPacUNaFBFR - 38.94 K/9 - if Sean "X-Pac" Waltman were catching him, opposed to any other receiver.

These are simple things ... please follow along.

Are using F or Bref, or your own metric? because that matters.....as you well know.

Times up!

Yeah as I mentioned a page or two ago, source said that they have a good shot to complete it this evening/night and at least a 95% chance tomorrow.

I sort of wonder if those 4,555 trades the Twins made in the rule V draft delayed things a bit?

Anyways, stay tuned!

I went with Guinness and Maker's Mark to dull the pain.

So how did that work out?

But if the Dodgers really offered De Leon plus Alvarez or Bellinger, I don't think we'd be in a waiting mode, which seems to be the consensus of reports (and isn't really contradicted by your report).

Unless you think the Twins have been in active final negotiations with the Dodgers since yesterday and no one else has noticed, which might be believable in sleepy Minnesota but hardly in LA.

I don't know.  Maybe the Pirates have Glasnow and Tallion on the table...  Exaggerating a bit, but if you have multiple very good offers, it's definitely worth pitting them against each other to get someone to blink.

Just to recap everything that I know:

-Trade is imminent apparently. It missed the 24 hour cutoff, but could happen at any moment.

-No significant second piece will be sent from the Twins side (no major league talent, maybe a toss in non prospect though)

-Puig, Lux, Urias all off the table. Lux could ultimately be put back in, but the odds are close to nil. Twins have less than zero interest in Puig, likely they would ask for Dodgers to take a bad contract in return, Dodgers have no interest since there are other teams around the league interested in Puig straight up.
