You guys should really start promoting VikingsJournal (and WildExtra) more these days

VJ has a great (but smallish) community going over there and has some really good articles/threads with tons of info. Unlike most other NFL forums, the overall community IQ is actually pretty damn impressive.

 

Additionally, the Vikings, unlike our Twins, are actually kicking some serious ass these days, so the need for quality content about our Vikings is at somewhat of a high point (especially with all the bandwagoner fans starting to look for space on the Vikings express)

 

Twins Daily obviously has a much larger user base and has been around longer, but I feel you guys are wasting multiple opportunities to promote the excellent coverage/conversation at VikingsJournal, why not some cross promoted blog posts? Or some blog posts by the main guys that tie in the Vikings vs Twins 2016's to help garner interest. I get that you don't want to drive traffic off Twinsdaily, but honestly I don't see that being an issue. Especially now that this disaster of a season is now over.

 

All of the above also applies to WildExtra IMO.

Agreed. It's also very simple to make the move to VJ for us TD folks. Your username is the same as here. So just log in and post away.

Now that the site is actually usable speed-wise, it's catching on.  That's great to see.  The effort is paying off and it's really coming along as a place to talk Purple.

It's not near enough, nobody clicks on those links and they are hardly a call to action or anything like that. I think Twinsdaily should give them more promotion/more resources etc

You know what I mean, those get lost in the shuffle on an otherwise busy page setup.

 

I think Twinsdaily could definitely do "more" to encourage people to go over to VJ.

Well, actually, I'm not sure then I know what you mean. It almost sounds like you want one site with forums to be separated by team, rather than separate sites for each team? I think TD does a pretty good job at linking its sites. Maybe there could be a little more cross-promotion, but imo I think having as many links as they do is sufficient. I would guess that the majority of users who come here are pretty exclusively Twins/baseball fans, with a few being 'more than one team/sport' fans and I, personally, don't really want to see more football/hockey/etc here on TD. If I want Vikings and Wild news, it's an easy click away.

My point is, I don't think the casual poster/lurker here knows enough about Vikings Journal/Wild Extra, yeah we see them linked on the sides, but again, that doesn't drive a whole lot of attention.

I'm not saying move the forums into this site either. Maybe something along the lines of putting ONE Vikings article/topic a week at the top of the Twins forum. Cross posting would go along ways.

It's the same thing Gawker/Deadspin/Gizmodo/Kotaku/etc did, and it worked wonders introducing a large fan base to other sites they might enjoy.

I use those side links as a gauge for activity and click on them often as well.
