No, I don't.
If my favorite restaurant keeps serving me overcooked steaks, it's not my job to go into the kitchen and show them how to cook them.
It's on them to figure it out or lose my business.

I have already said I don't care HOW they do it, just that it gets better.

If you don't care HOW they do it then why are you so adamant that Tyus Jones should be starting. That is precisely telling them how to do it.

IMHO, I'd prioritize a big 3 over pretty anything else at this point. Canis had an interesting point yesterday that Wiggins defensive rating is strongly negative as a small forward and break even at shooting guard.

More ancedotely, they had no shot against Kawhi Leonard last night. Right now, making a run at a restricted free agent like Otto Porter feels smart in the offseason.

I'm not adamant. I suggested that I'd like to see more of him, that is all.

Hopefully Dunn can keep playing well and it won't matter.

Yeah there's quite a few free agents that fit that mold: Hayward, Gallinari, Iguodala.

The draft also could provide a big 3 for depth and eventual starter. I really like Jonathan Isaac right now. If they're really bad, Jayson Tatum looks like he could be a stud. O.G. Anunoby isn't quite as big, but he plays big and is a good defender.

Luol Deng fit that mold last offseason and he got 4/72. The Wolves have the money available but they are going to need to go to offer the max (or almost the max) to get a guy like Porter. I think that is fine considering that Rubio and Dieng are the only players on long term contracts although a couple will be signing extensions in the next couple of seasons.

Another way to look at it is that Bazz is one of the best players on the best and he is going to get at least 10M/yr in this market. I would definitely pay double+ to get a guy like Porter.

Assuming the medical retirement for Pek, 20 million is his contract plus most of Garnett's coming off the books. I make a pitch to Hayward and Porter in the offseason.

If you want more of a bench small forward, there's Covington who also makes some sense.

Anouby might be my favorite draft prospect right now. A 230-lbs small forward with a center wing span would solve a lot of problems defensively. Issac I like a lot too. Tatum is the one that scares me the most.

Deng has shown to be a 4 only in LA, though. That's part of the thing is that you could get very bad results pursuing that.

I was concerned Jayson Tatum was "soft" from watching some of his high school stuff, but he's competed well in the short amount of time he's been able to play this year. He's shown a lot of his offensive skill too.

Another guy that I forgot to mention earlier is Miles Bridges. It would be nice to have a SF who goes after rebounds, and he would fit right into this high flying team.

The point was more that a player like Deng is getting 18M in this FA market. Porter is almost a lock for the max. The Wolves definitely have room for a max contract (they had room this year or close to it) next year but you might have to pay it just to make Lavine the 6th man.

That is how you considerably strengthen the team though. Add Lavine to the bench and it is a legit unit. He would also still be playing 25+ min/game so it isn't like his usage would drop. He just wouldn't officially be a starter anymore.

I was going to mention that some John Wall rumors would start up soon.

Yes, I would do it. The Wolves would have to figure out a stop gap at PF but I would definitely take a near elite PG for Rubio, a solid rookie and Dieng who doesn't really fit well with Towns. It would be an absolute heist to get Wall without giving up Lavine. Towns and Wiggins are of course untouchable.

Plus two additional 1st round picks?

Wall has always been overrated in my eyes, so I'd pass. That's a lot to give up for a point guard who's reasonable a slight upgrade from Rubio. Especially given right now the BPA where you pick is likely going to be one of Ball/Fultz/Smith if you really want to reboot the point guard position next year.

Wall would have to be very, very overrated to only be a slight upgrade from Rubio. I will defend Rubio as a solid or average PG but Wall would have to be the completely wrong match for this team for this not to work.

But Washington might not even want Rubio if they are going into rebuild mode. They might want Dunn, the next pick (might not be tradeable right now though due to the Payne trade) and Dieng plus something else. Even then this seems light for Wall.
