Class of 2012:

2 Buxton

32 Berrios

37 Light - BOS

42 Bard

63 Melatokis

72 Chargois

97 Walker

160 Duffey

310 Baxendale

340 Rogers

WE've already got more out of that draft than one would eapect, with quite a bit of potential going forward.

I'll wait until these guys actually succeed with some kind of consistency before I label it a success.

That's the one.  LA Law was good too.

She's not Game Thread worthy though.

You mean succeed with the Twins, or...

Bert's confidence in Tommy Tutone being a starter somewhere in MLB next year would be a little more credible if Tommy were able to crack one of the worst rotations in baseball this year.

Yeah, the straw-grasping and ill-placed ray of hope love for obvious journeymen by our TV duo has reached loopy proportions here in September.

I might add, Susan Dey would easily surpass any standards so far exhibited on GT! :)

Best Partridge Family episode ever: After hearing strange voices in his head, Luke finds out that it's Laurie's braces causing a disturbance in the Force.

Did Vargas just high five Cabrera when Cabrera went around first?

Perhaps Vargas knows something about a pending personnel move in the works and is getting an early start on making nice with the Latin superstar? (FWIW- I think I read that Cabrera, Ortiz and Vargas all have the same agent.)

Yeah, if I'm the pitcher (or really anyone on the team), I'm not happy my 1B is high-fiving the opponent who just hit a HR off me/us.

Big Papi v2.0?

I'm torn on this possibility. I've always hoped for the second coming of Papi from his days in Beloit- heck Papi is Kennys' idol and mentor, but it would sure hurt if he ends up blossoming for another club, ala Ortiz. Going through that mental ordeal over the last 15 years was enough.

It is kind of mind-boggling that the only reason Vargas is getting any reps is because Plouffe, Sano, Park and Mauer are unavailable and in effect Vargas is currently sharing the 1st base duties tonight, just barely beating out James Beresford.

MigCab to the Twins, maybe? Sure the odds are against it, but nobody has more room under the talent cap to sign a megastar than the Twins.

Anyone got the magic number on us "clinching" #1 (#30) over (under) the Braves?

Five games up with 11 to play. I think the magic number is 7. If the Twins lose their next 7 games, they would be at a minimum up 5 with 4 games to play. (Atlanta holds the tiebreaker).
