Current TV, regardless the year

Netflix Alias Grace is also a very good show.

I watched two episodes last night. It's well made but two episodes in and I still can't even tell what genre this is supposed to be; it simply is playing like a grounded period piece, but there's no way that's how it ends up. I can tell there are big twists a-coming but so far the story is so straightforward it's hard to picture how the writers will make any atmosphere change feel organic.

I might have been spoiled by Mindhunter though. That was a really smart show. I love a show that lays out every character as a stereotype or trope but then goes about quickly breaking some while pinning down others.

Just finished season one of broadchurch. Intense

One of my favorite individual seasons of any show. Olivia Colman is such an amazing actress!  Can't wait for her to take on the role of Queen in 'The Crown' during seasons 3 and 4.

Watched season 4 of Black Mirror. It seemed they may have ran out of new tech ideas but that didn't really matter in my view as there are plenty of hypothetical stories to tell within the tech world already established.

Season 4 was a lot like season 3, a couple of continuous action episodes, one drama everyone will hope has a happy ending, and nihilism, just so much nihilism. I think the first episode was my favorite. I watched all six in two days, maybe next season I'll learn to watch one a day so I can better digest the ideas and messages.

About to get on a plane and downloaded this... Looking forward to watching the episodes!

Also....Jessica Jones Season 2.....not so hot.  The Marvel Netflix run has had one decent showing since Daredevil/Jessica Jones started so strong.  (Punisher)

Yeah, I can't really express how uninteresting season 2 of Jessica Jones was. And for me, as much as I loved season one of Daredevil, Jessica Jones season one was on the same level. Luke Cage was a step down and Iron First was horrible (as was the Defenders, which was a huge disappointment). I liked Daredevil season 2, myself, but I never got through Punisher.

I thought the second half of Daredevil Season 2 (when Punisher left the forefront) became pretty dreadful.  The first half of Luke Cage was pretty great too, but it also became dreadful.  And we shouldn't even speak of Defenders, good lord what a mess.

I don't think it's coincidence that the best parts of the Netflix run featured Fisk, Killgrave, Cottonmouth, and Punisher.  You know....villains worth loving.

After the initial seasons of Jessica Jones and Daredevil, the whole endeavor felt rushed; the writing, characterization just wasn't there.   I couldn't make it very far into Daredevil season 2, and haven't tried the others, though I've been considering giving JJ S2 a chance.

I've considered giving up Netflix lately. I pay for HBO and Prime. Not sure I need Netflix. I suppose I need to look more closely someday.....

I switch back and forth between HBO and Netflix since they're both about the same price per month.

It's about time for me to switch back over to HBO.

That's probably what I should do! Actually, I think Xfinity is giving me HBO "free", now that I think about it. But I could drop Netflix for a few months, and then go back if I want

In my opinion, Punisher is the one to try. I think you will find JJ2 largely boring or maddening.
