Yes, and I loved the two about the writer......like, that could have almost been a movie. And, I liked the silly ones too! Just a great show.

This prompted me to finish the series (finally). For some reason, I stalled out with all of 2.5 episodes remaining for some dumb reason. I wasn't really sold on the writer episodes until I saw them tied into a bow, at which point I appreciated that story arc a lot more.

If you're not watching The Righteous Gemstones you should probably do something about that.

I came here with one thing to say and one to ask and you tackled half of it for me!

Murderville is a fun concept on Netflix - part improv, part scripted comedy, a lot of fun.  Worth a watch.

I came to ask if anyone has an opinion on Righteous Gemstones and since I value your opinion highly, I'm bumping that to my next binge.  Walter Goggins is a god damn national treasure, the man doesn't get nearly enough love for just how good he is.

Goggins doesn't get as much screen time in Gemstones as he did in Vice Principals but you sit up and take notice every time Uncle Baby Billy is in a scene. I don't think he was in the first three episodes of season two but he's been featured quite prominently since.

Also Edi Patterson kills it in Gemstones. I guess years of improv is the only way someone could deliver the lines she has with a straight face.

Thanks for the kind words and back at you. I will give Murderville a look see.

Spell check got you, I believe

and agreed Walton Goggins is a treasure, though I am not up to date on the shows, I’m adding to me queue

Moon Knight is great so far

We are in season two of Discovery, which I really like a lot.

We are about eight episodes into The Good Place, and I'm shocked at how much I love it. And yes, I know it changes a lot over time.... But I know nothing, so no spoilers please.

My wife and I really loved the characters in the Good Place.  I wonder what you'll think about the series as time goes on, but we laughed a lot at the show.  Good philosophical underpinnings too!

I'm into Picard, I have to give Discovery a chance.  (Assuming you mean Star Trek)

Ditto on Moon Knight, has a cool vibe so far.

Yes, Discovery as in ST......some feel it isn't optimistic enough to be ST, and other quibbles. I've always wanted a Klingon based Trek, and the first year + features a ton of that.....

Hmmm, I'll add it to my list.

We just started Mr. Mercedes after we finished the Outsider.  Anyone with a take on either of them?

Wife loves it, I couldn't get through the first episode.

I also stopped halfway thru season 2 of Ted Lasso. Found his Lasso-isms too annoying.

You gave up on a highly rated show before finishing 1 episode? I'm trying hard not to judge you :)

As for your Lasso opinion, I get it, but strongly disagree.

Better Call Saul has returned and I couldn't be more thrilled. I've said it before in this thread but to me it's the best show on TV and I'm going to miss these characters once it wraps up.

Looking forward to HBO's Barry season 3 starting on Sunday, Hacks season 2 next month also from HBO and of course the final episodes of Ozark later this month.

Just to comment on some of the shows mentioned since I last posted.. There was nothing else like The Good Place on TV. Made you laugh and think. Just fantastic.

Murderville was enjoyable. I would watch more if they made more. The only let down, and let down is maybe too harsh, was the Annie Murphy episode. Maybe improv isn't her thing but that one felt a little stiff.

Space Force was a rare series for me in that I gave up on it after 5 episodes. It has such a strong cast so maybe it's more that it didn't meet my expectations. I'd be willing to go back and give it another try.

Mrs.Maisel is probably my favourite active comedy. Tony Shalloub should get every award that exists.

I enjoyed Murderville.

I have to say, I'm slowly watching Mythic Quest with my son and the episode that showed CW's origin - that he took credit for Isaac Asimov's work - was the best show I've seen in a long, long time. I didn't expect an episode that serious and emotional from them.

On a stupid note, there is a show called "Beforiegners" on HBO Max. The premise is beyond stupid but they play it straight. It's also in Norwegian. But it might be worth a look.

That Mythic Quest episode is one of the best tv episodes in history, imo. It was truly great acting and writing.

I gave up on Space Force after two episodes. It was too real for me and depressed me.
